Does anyone have cats with allergies? I don't know if my cat does, but every spring she starts itching and biting the insides of her legs, enough to sometimes wear the skin down. She is an inside cat, but we do sometimes let her outside while we watch her. Any ideas? It happens yearly, but goes away after awhile each time.

take her to the vet where not allowed to give out medical advice on CS

I've taken her to the vet before this, and they didn't really have much of an explaination, just sold us some overpriced ointment that didn't really help XD
I wasn't looking for medical advice, just if anyone else's cat(s) have ever had something similar, and what they may have ended up doing. ^_^

she or he sounds like a cute cat!your cat is overwieght,so dont feed him EVERY time its bowl is empty, you can read books or search up how much your cat needs to eat a day.i have a cat just like that and we are trying to help her right now.

Hmmm, my kitty has been refusing to sleep inside at night lately. I tried to keep her in last night but she kept on yowling at the door. And she's fixed, so I don't think she's in heat.

okay, so today when i woke up in the morning, i petted my cat around her neck and felt something odd. she wasn't wearing her collar. i decided to mind it and went on with today's life and when i got home and petted her again, she rolled around and this time i saw a small glimps of something on her neck

i checked and i found these rolled up balls of hair just below the ear and right near the cheek. they are pretty darn big and she has been itching on that spot for a couple days. im not sure what it is, all i know is that it hurts and itches her, im going to take her to the vet on monday, but i really would like to know what it is so that i can do some research.

here are the pics, in case none of the above made sense : < :

it's hard to see, but it's like a coccoon here:

this is the other side of the neck:

and here's a closer look:

it looks like matted fur(same issue i have) , it hurts as it would be pulling on her skin, my cat ella gets them, i am able to brush her cheeks so shes never got them there (plus she gets groomed there by my other cats) but she had them starting behind her ears but i was able to get them out,and now groom behind there evey day, another place would be to look under her arm pits theres where ella has them

if it isnt matted fur tell me what it is on monday im interested now

btw medical advice is not allowed on CS ,how you worded it sounded like it might have been medical ,but its probley grooming issues

ill be added some FAQ's today
