Given she's young, you can go cold turkey and start her on a balanced diet straight away c: You will need a minimum of four different proteins, and should feed in a ratio of 80:10:10 of meat:organ:bone- at least, I think it's the same for cats as dogs, just that she will need food higher in taurine, so your dark meats and things like heart and gizzard. There's loads of pages for fb! I recommend Prey Model Raw Fed Cats.

That sounds great. The bone part i'm a little confused of, but i'm sure I'll learn. I did fine a site that talk about a lot of the raw meat and which are typically best at certain ages. The same with what kinds of bones to give them.

The only problem I have is that I don't really see deer meat. My step-dad and a few of my friends are deer hunters and I thought it would be a good idea if they could get me some scraps among other things from the deer. So is it okay to feed a Kitten deer meat/bones? I don't think the organs matter all than much, but correct me if i'm wrong.

Deer meat is ok, but I wouldn't feed the bones to a cat. Deer are large animals and their bones may be too hard for kitty teeth. Some good bones for cats would be poultry wings (chicken, turkey, quail, geese), poultry necks, whole mice, rabbit and other small animals. You'll also want to make sure you're feeding your kitty hearts frequently. Cats need taurine, and hearts are rich with it!

So my dad works on this really, really old house out near the lake. We’ve been doing construction on it for a while and things are now starting to clear up. Well dad was out tearing up some concrete and came across this plaque tucked in against a tree next to the ravine. Dad reads it and the home owner said it was from the people there before them, and to just toss it into the ravine. Dad decided that someone really, really loved their cat (seeing as this is a copper plate from 1950… and engraved none the less.) that they took the time to have a plaque engraved, and then embedded into concrete over looking a ravine, dad took it home and polished it up. He has plans to set it in the concrete next to the ravine once everything is finished, but probably with a very nice plum tree beside it.

We can't give medical advice on CS. You need to get them to a vet, no one else can help you :c Asthma can be fatal so you can't leave this stuff up to random internet people who are not vets.
You cannot eat love, nor buy a horse with it, nor warm your halls on a cold night

I highly suggest saving up for at least one visit.
A vet would be more qualified to even just give you advice on how to deal with it, than any of us here. And even if you can't afford an medication ( idk what they have on the market for asthmatic cats ), they might still have some tips for you.

Something that helps for humans, though, is staying in a clean environment. Making sure the house is clean and not dusty, not letting them near any smoke or anything like that.

Try to get them to a vet if you see them getting worse, or you could just go in and ask about any sort of treatment.
As with all asthma problems, try to keep the environment as clean as possible and watch them closely. If you see them getting worse - vet, immediately.

But, as always, discussions like this aren't really allowed on CS. Do a bit of research or get them to a vet.

So far I haven't received a call from the foster home about the kitten we are wanting to get. I was hoping they would call today.

How long does it usually take?

well, my 2 year old cat managed to crawl into a small, unwired, unfinished attic like spot. its 5 feet deep and a foot tall, absolutely nothing more than a little boxish thing. she gets in there a lot to sleep, so we actually have a little blanket up there for her... anyways, she got in there and we heard screaming. like, cat fighting screaming combined with thumping. So we all run in there and my dad climbs onto a chair to see whats going on. marie (my cat) is spasming and screaming and convulsing, wetting herself and foaming at the mouth. she legitimately looks like shes being electrocuted, but theres no way she could be.

my dads too short to get her out, so my husband (who is a large man) managed to punch a hole in the drywall UNDER marie, and reach in to grab her. shes stiff as a board and still convulsing, so we hurry her to our kitchen table and my dad and husband start ripping apart the drywall, trying to figure out what the heck happened. my mom and I in the meantime are looking marie over for any burn marks or anything. marie is in a weird (weird for marie, who never sits still...) state of absolute shock. her pupils are completely blown and shes panting and making small spasming motions.

husband and dad find no wires that could mean she'd been electrocuted. none at all. nothing she could have gotten hung up on, and we have nothing in the house thats deadly to cats (my mom was a vet tech for a long time. shes really careful.)

as best we can figure, marie had a seizure :/ so now we wait and if it happens again, we record it and take her to the vet to get his opinion... never the less, it was terrifying and we no longer have a little alcove for the cats. (theres just a big hole in our roof that no one can get to.)

So I posted here about two weeks ago when I first brought my new cat home, but I figured I'd just share a little about her now that she's settled in.

Her name is Roslyn but I call her Rozzy for short. She's taken really well to apartment life which is a relief considering I live in a studio. She really loves the balcony overlooking a large park with tons of wildlife. I need to figure out a new way to secure it though, yesterday she somehow managed to get on the other side of the fence to my neighbor's balcony when I looked away for two seconds. What a way to meet the neighbors, your cat just casually strolling in through their open door. She's FIV+ and on a very well balanced (and expensive Dx ) diet to keep her general health up.

Next up my goals are to scratching-post train her because she's been using the back of my nice sectional for the last week or so. I'd also love to harness train her so I can take her down to the park since she seems to love being outside, but she loathes me putting on and taking off collars and the like. I got a harness on her and she strolled around in it no big deal, but she hates being handled to get it on. Any tips for that?

@gold: I don't have any tips for harness training, however I do for scratching post training!:) Do you happen to have a scratching post already?
If not, then try to get multiple types if you can just in case she doesn't like one of them. By that, I mean it would be helpful to get one that stands straight up (tall enough for her to stretch her entire body up onto it) and one that lies flat on the ground. (If you really want to go all in, you could even get a curved one, but I don't think that's necessary)

To keep her from scratching the furniture, use furniture safe double-stick tape (you can find it at pet stores or online pretty easily) and stick it to the areas that she seems to like scratching. Most cats hate that sticky feeling. Trying to scratch the furniture once and being met with the sticky tape is usually enough to keep most cats from ever returning to that spot to scratch again.
