The moment when your dog with kidney/urinary issues acts sick then throws up. Back onto antibiotics again. Haven't even been off them for a week. I am not asking for medical advice. My boss is her vet, so I've gotten that side of things as handled as could be. Just stressed and worried.

i plan on getting a dog to do personal protection with when i move out and can afford it. what are your breed recommendations? im leaning towards either a malinois or tervuren. im looking for a dog that is protective when it needs to be but also friendly (wont just go after everyone), is easy to train and good with other dogs. i would probably take them on hikes and of course theyd do different dog sports.

I recommend Rhodesian ridgebacks, border collies, Australian Shepherds, or American Pitbull Terriers (:

I have a Rhodesian ridgeback pit mix, he’s very protective and loves to be outdoors. He’s a complete bed hog when it’s nighttime, but overall he’s pretty chill.

He’s pretty fat, so he’s always whining about food. He likes to play with other dogs, as long as they like him.

I think one of the breeds listed above would work well :D
But so would Malinois and tervurans!

American Pitbull Terriers are actually horrible for protection work because they are so human friendly.

It’s my boys 6th birthday today! Can’t believe my tiny little fluff ball is 6 years old, it feels like yesterday that he came home as a tiny fluffy 6 week old baby! Now he’s 6, it’s insane! Make him stop growing!

Gonna see about picking him up something special tomorrow, it’s hard to get things when you can’t drive though lol!

Finally going to go hang out with K, E and their dogs! Can’t wait to see everyone and get Kes out to run with her friends finally! We’ve both been so bored, fingers crossed my spine does ok with it lol.

So, my friends moms Rat Terrier mix, Scooter, was attacked by their neighbors APBT back in December apparently.

Her mom has gone to the neighbor three times about this dog as there is a toddler in the house and this dog is aggressive.

She got out of the fence for the fourth time in the week and almost bit one of her two brothers one day, then attacked the rat terrier mix another day. They're lucky the toddler wasn't out there. Annie, an old ex-hunting dog, was out there when it happened and attacked the pit and defended Scooter. Scooter is "her puppy" despite him being older than her. Guess it's a size thing. He's puppy size.

The owners of this APBT, Aurora was her name, have had the animal seized and put down because of the attack on the little dog and they are facing a lawsuit from medical bills for Scooter.

This rat terrier at this point has nerve damage and spots that have scarred and won't have any fur there for the rest of his life. He's p old now and has no other injuries other than the visible ones, He's very lucky Annie was there.

This is Annie and my friends cat.

Annies face is screaming: Hello darkness my old friend.
Boots is like: Shut up I'm trying to sleep.

@.Middy. - Wish your boy a Happy Birthday for me!

@Skysong - That's terrible. I feel bad for everyone who's been attacked. And I feel bad for the dog who had to die because of a total failure of it's owners.

@Shane Dawson - That is a beautiful picture of Oppie. :)

He has a little mat under his jaw that would be awkward to try and comb... not sure if he already had that before we got him or I just missed cleaning up a spot after brushing his teeth one night and it matted that way.

He is 14 weeks old male yorkie with one round of shots. He gets his 2nd round of shots around the 12th of this month if it matters.

He can be taken once he has all of his shots. When is his second round due? You could try to cut the mat out if you get a pair of grooming scissors. I’d also suggest on brushing him daily, even just a few strokes of the brush or comb, it’ll get him used to the feeling of being groomed. The amount of dogs I’ve seen that are afraid of being brushed because owners never bothered to start young is crazy!

Also, as someone who works in a clinic, PLEASE get him used to his ears/face being messed with and his feet. Helps the groomers out as well.
