Fed my minnow and sunfish some stuff from the stream behind my house, and that made them rather happy. It's so nice to see them hunting.

And my betta's fins are looking better! He's very active and isn't afraid of me anymore, he'll jump out of the tank to get my finger <3333

And my newest goldfish is settling in nicely. His orange is so bright it almost hurts your eyes X3

I'm trying to upload some pictures of my fish, but it won't connect -.- The plants should help with the bio-load, which I believe would be ginormous, with 18 poop machines one the go. Not to mention 3 gourami. A catfish and Tiger Barb. Wow.

Gouramis need 74 - 79 F (23 - 26 C), and tiger barbs need 75F(24 C) and up. They are tropical hun. They need warmer temps than goldfish. Your goldfish temp should not get over 70F.

Those angels definitely brought something nasty into my tank. My original angel is now dead too. I am so ticked off. How could I be so stupid as to not QT? What IS this crap? No symptoms, not outwards signs of anything wrong at all. Then just suddenly dead. I am super worried about the other fish in the tank now. The gouramis, loaches, pleco, bettas, danios and guppies are still showing no signs of illness. I can't just treat the tank for anything, either. The tank is planted and has many shrimp and snails that most meds would probably kill. And plus, I don't even know what this IS. No symptoms, no clues aside from sudden death. UGH! I'm an idiot!

I hope its some kind of angel-fish specific thing for your case. /:
I'm so sorry.

This is the main reason why I've stepped back from buying a second guppy for my ten gallon. I've got my four catfish(who I adore) and my big fancy black and white guppy.... they are all so happy and healthy right now. I don't want to screw things up.

I think Vincent is getting a bit on the older side. /:
I know that most bettas in LPS are usually past their prime. He's not loosing any activity or anything and he's still a vicious eater, but he's got an old man "beard"... It's what I call his steadily lightening chin. xD I'm pretty sure it's not anything wrong with him. Just age catching up to the little guy?

If you are willing to move the shrimp and snails and plants I would salt the tank to .1%. That really sucks though.
This may sound crazy but do you maybe have any air bubbles in your substrate? I have heard of bacteria getting stuck in dirtied and sand tanks in air gaps. If it gets disturbed and the nasty bacteria in the bubble gets into the tank it can kill fish. Same if its water that has been stuck in hallow decor. It it is never moved and it becomes stagnate and will kill stuff. One of the reasons I chose to go bare bottom. I hope you figure it out. :(

You are not an idiot though. You made a mistake, it happens. Like when I almost crashed my cycle with duck weed and lost Kimi to that mistake.

Just wanted to say you don't have to be an expert to help. :) Just try to make sure any advice you are give is correct and you are more than welcome to help. :3

Toboe: My first and best guess is columaris. This stuff strikes fast and hard and more often than not it has no outward systems. When it does show symptoms it can be a broad range of things like an apparent fungus (treating for fungus does nothing). paleness, lethargic, clamped fins. Once a fish is infected you have 48 hours AT MAX before it drops randomly. Dosing with a good broad spectrum anti-biotic is your best bet.. Like marcylin or marcylin2. In most cases, though, it has to run its course. In the mean time make sure you're not sharing ANYTHING between the tanks. I had columaris in my 30 gallon and lost two platy, a danio, and then a betta. A number of months ago I had another bout and lost 8 harlequin rasbora, 2 oto cats, and a betta.. One after the other.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

I'm thinking of just netting all the fish and moving them into the 20L and treating there, and upping the temp in the 55, as well as adding salt to both tanks.
