First of all, Thunder, IF the whole wolf species were to be wiped out (which is possible, but unlikley) It WOULD cause annihilation of the earth and the living things around it.
But. Thunder, as seeming it you being one of the younger members of CS I can put this sort of simple;
Grass -> Deer -> Wolf -> Fungi, or maybe some other decomposer.
In this case, if wolves were to be extinct it would go somewhat like this.
Grass -> Deer -> Fungi.
But of course this is only with humans out of the equation.
If there were no wolves, that means the deer population, and whatever else it eats, will go up. if this population goes up, There would be less grass, and trees to eat for the herbivores/omnivores. This means Once there is enough deer/ or whatever else the wolves eat that are herbivores/omnivores, They will all start to die of Starvation/lack of food. This also goes (sort of) for water as well. This Cycle is called "Spiking and Crashing" This ''spiking and crashing'' is the worst thing that would happen to the ecosystem/habitat/whatever else there could be. This means, If wolves were wiped from the earth, The deer population will go up, meaning not enough food for all the deer/whatever. If this happens, there will be a Crash, meaning the population will go down quickly and the deer will die off, possibly meaning the WHOLE population of deer.
This is bad for the planet, Because eventually because of the wolves AND deer wiped from earth, This will cause a Chain Reaction in the ecosystems near, and far. Eventually, this leads to world annihilation.
So, hunting is both good and bad.
Also seeing you are a younger member, I can see you only want best for each animal individual. It would be good if we could stop hunting and somehow keep the wolf population under control but, unfortunately it never works that way, and the world doesn't work that way.
I hope this is somewhat of an easier thing for you to understand by.
Also for something to add in there;;
These wolves will to adapt to any environment if necessary to survive. This is sort of like the Bull sharks.
Bull sharks of one of the most aggressive shark in the world, and USED to only live in Salt Water. These Bull sharks have migrated to the Mississippi, more south, working north.
This is sort of what wolves would do, if they find their habitat, very VERY insecure. Meaning if they feel they are unsafe, even hidden in their own homes, they will migrate. This is very true.
Yes, they are innocent, but these wolves NEED to be controlled with their population, or this very thing can happen. Sorry, but it's the way life works. You think millions of innocent deer/elk/moose/whatever want to be killed? Do you want to be killed? All populations on earth, even the human population on earth HAS to be CONTROLLED.
right now the earth has 7 billion people walking the grounds. SEVEN BILLION. That's a crap load of people, man.
If, we were all to stand shoulder to shoulder, we can all fit in California.
Thing about it, If the world gets to where there are so many people, we can stand shoulder to shoulder and fill the US in, that's bad. There would be barley any food for all of us to think. And think, we'd all probably be living like the Third world countries. Drinking dirty water, eating uncooked animals. This is not how we want to end up. Ever since humans have figured out how to save themselves, Our population has gone OUT OF CONTROL. The earth was only designed to support one to two billion people. Look how far our population has gone. Pretty soon, What I explained earlier will happen to US world.
Think about this -
We Are Spiking.
Every Spike, ends with a Crash.
The human population will crash soon, because we are spiking.
So do you want that for the wolves, now too?
it's already happening to us.
(Sorry this sort of got off topic, but maybe this may prove my point? x3)
