Foxes are canines but are unable to reproduce with dogs, coyotes, or wolves. Hyenas are closer related to cats than dogs but are technically neither.

Late, but foxes are canids, not canines. They're canids because they're in the family Canidae, but they aren't in the tribe Canini or the genus Canis. Foxes (true foxes anyway) are in the tribe Vulpini and the Genus Vulpes. Foxes are vulpine, not canine.

Well, Foxes, as far as I know, are the only one of the vulpes family, so therefore they are counted as canines here.

This wasn't meant to be exact. Foxes look like canines (of which they are not, but still) so they are part of this 'canine' group.

I love huskies and Chows.I currently own a female husky named Kiera c:.Even though she is CRAZY at some times I will always love her.
Right now my cousin is fostering a chowchow named BB and I really wish we could adopt him..maybe if I wish hard enough we will
