My one Leopard Gecko, Picchu, doesn't open his (I think) eyes anymore..Picchu is an albino..does that have anything to do with it?
I'm worried that he may not be able to eat..or maybe he just eats at night, I'm not sure. My mom said that albino people have trouble with eye sight so I wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it. e_e

I would probably keep it as a pet! xP I hate killing any animals. But I hate insects, so I dont Care about them.

Leos shouldn't be given pinkies anyway, so you don't have to worry about it. XD. For leos, I find pinkies too large to be safely eaten without the chance of choking. A pinkie wouldn't survive without a parent mouse, so if you ever did get a live one, it would be best to kill it quickly before it dehydrated or starved.

I personally have no problem with pinkies, even fuzzies(it's not nice to see animal die, but other animals have to eat. It's natural), because you generally just throw them in and they get eaten. I use to have to feed adult mice, and unlike the small mice they had to be stunned prior to feeding, or else they would bite the monitors. I didn't enjoy it at all, so it was a relief when I got them converted to pre-killed(frozen).

Get him to a vet, or at least call your vet. Albinism might mean he has more sensitive eyes, but if he was previously fine with his eyes open, and now keeps them shut, then something else is wrong with him. The most common cause is a foreign body like sand or parasites, but it could also be an eye infection, which can be caused by a foreign body. Both require a trained professional to resolve, and medication in the case of an infection. Without treatment he could end up blind, loose an eye or both, or even die.

In the meantime, do not leave live food in his enclosure if he can not see. They will start to chew on him, which will only add to his problems. If he doesn't eat them within 15 minutes, make sure you remove all of them. Use a dropper or syringe to put drops of water on the tip of his nose to see if he will lick them up. Missing water is much much more dangerous than not eating.

I'll contact a vet. I had removed one of the caves in his enclosure and sprayed some water on him a little and he opened his eyes and started moving around and running like mad..he's really skittish. I have a feeling it may be that he's more nocturnal and has sensitive eyes but I will make sure.

I think I hadn't noticed that he is more sensitive to light until now because only recently, he's been resting outside of a little cave in their tank. He usually likes hiding in it but now sits outside of it with his eyes closed.

Thanks. :)

assdkfjlksdng Honey doesn't seem to like crickets.
So now there's a tub of crickets sitting on the back porch.
They're resilient little buggers, I put some leftover crested gecko diet in their tub, found one that looked dead in it, took it out, it was moving in less than a minute.

I'd keep misting him if that seems to help him. Maybe your enclosure is too hot and dry, and it's hurting his eyes(like it can hurt our eyes on a really hot, dry day). Do you have a hygrometer(humidity gauge)? Do you have a moist hide in his tank at all times?

All leopard geckos are primarily nocturnal, though some will feel comfortable doing some exploring and eating during the day. You might want to change his feeding schedule if you've been feeding during the day. Offer food at night, but once again, make sure you remove the food after 15-20mintes. It's never a good idea to leave live food in their enclosure.

Is his cave big enough? maybe he's sleeping outside of it, because he can't comfortably fit in the one you have, or maybe it's too hot(if you have it over/under the hot spot)? I'd still take him to see a vet just to make sure he doesn't have any parasites or an infection.

lol, yes. Crickets are touch bugs(probably why they are also so popular). If you've got no one that will eat them, you could try giving them away on Craigslist. It could really help someone that has trouble affording live food for their reptiles. I did this with some hornworms that my dragons decided they didn't like(omg, so much wasted money there...).

If never shows interest in them, I'll probably sell 'em, but they are pretty small so he might just want bigger ones. Of course, he might just not like them.

All could be true. You also might try gut loading them with something different, such as some real sweet fruit.

We have banana, so when I give Honey some of that I'll give it to the crickets and they'll probably get some bits of apple as well. At the moment there's broccoli, carrot, and leftover crested gecko diet for them, and they'll get some plain oatmeal eventually.

Izod was very sleepy today. He refused mixed greens, and blackberries(one of his favorites). I ended up offering him some scrambled eggs, since I won't get my shipment of silkworms until Wednesday. He took a few bites of the eggs, and then fell asleep in the dish while I was eating my own meal and doing some cleaning. He's thankfully drinking just fine, if not a little more than usual. I swear, I'm at a point where I'm afraid to turn his lights on in the morning, because I know one of these days he's not going to open his eyes. He is behaving the same way he does when he goes into brumation, but he came out of brumation back in February, and it's starting to get hot here in SoCal, so it's definitely not brumation. I don't know if I should wait until his scheduled appointment in few weeks, or take him in early again. Last Monday the vet found nothing wrong, and I trust my vet wholeheartedly. My biggest concern is what I should do if he stops eating completely. I have force fed sick reptiles in the past, but I'm not going to do it with Izod if it's truly his time to go. I'd prefer not to put him through that stress. I'm going to have to call tomorrow, because it's going to drive me crazy otherwise.

As for Mango, she's gained all her lost weight(from brumation) back, and maybe more. I might have to start watching her diet more closely.
