I’m very unhappy with my current habitat for my two male fancy mice
and currently they are housed separately because they don’t get along.
I’m looking to get something spacious for them (and I’m leaning toward
something that can be separated into two parts because I don’t want a
chance of them fighting at all) because I want them to be happy and
have as much space as they need. I only have a 10 gallon tank and a 10
gallon tank topper for them and I just : ((( wish they had MORE. if any-
body has any advice and suggestions, please share them! Because I want
my babies to be happy aaaa
A bin cage, like Gamora said, would likely be a cheaper option. Some
people really dislike the look of bin cages, however, and so they
may not be ideal for you. If that's the case, have you considered
breeder cages? They tend to be split down the middle but you'd
have to ensure the bar spacing is suitable for the size of your
mice to prevent them escaping into one another's cage.
Are you limited to having the cage together or do you have more
surface area for separate cages? If that is the case, perhaps look
at the Alexander cage or the Barney cage (similar to the Alexander,
tends to be cheaper). They've always been a go-to for mice owners.
And, if you're really looking at increasing their space, IKEA Detolf's
can be turned on their side to make a really long cage. You can half
that to separate them with a panel of sorts.
