why not work with something that is what nature wants it to be...want not work with a REAL wolf.
I truly feel sorry for those poor things.....so many stupid stupid people jumping in before researching and then to have then bred like that and passed out to stupid people.

and i will still continue work with friends in rescue and rehab centers to get them outlawed and the only ownership allowed is that of people that have licenses to keep them and help put a stop to the breeding of them.

it seems to me the people who have done their homework know its not good for just anyone, and go off to say 'I want one because I loved wolves sence I was young' so I am going to get one
the ones that did NOT do the homework do say that

Indeed. I've loved wolves and I'd love to have one, but I don't think I'm the type of person that would be suitable for the animal's needs. You need to think about the animal, first, Animalsrock. If you can't cater to every single one of the wolf hybrid's needs, you shouldn't get one. You should also think about yourself compared to the dog you want. I don't think a person who likes to roughhouse would be good with a small dog like a Teacup Chihuahua. I also don't think a lazy person who doesn't like to get out of the house a lot should get a big dog like an Alaskan Malamute. It doesn't matter if you've wanted one 'for as long as you can remember', if you and your home aren't suited to the dog, you shouldn't get your hopes too high. If you really care about the animal, you'll do your research and make sure you are right for this animal.

Yeah but i think we need to take into consideration that there are a lot of young people on this site who just don't have a realistic view of things yet. I like to think that at least some of them will change theyre view when they are older and in a position to actually get a dog.
And i would also like to find out some info on this magical, mythical liceance everyone thinks they can just go get without a problem.
Because where i live the only people who can be in possesion of a wolf are zoos and wildlife custodians and ether way the animal is kept in an enclosure that simulates it's natural habitat as closely as possible. Having the liceance doesn't mean you can go walking the bloody thing down the street on a leash or keeping it in you're house (im sure the rules varry but i can't imagine it's much different)

Are to willing to let him go outside, and not cringe when he returns with a small fluffy thing?
Wolf instincts are to nom bunnies and squirrels Also a large dog instinct. So that probably would be multiplied. I think some speices of wolf reallly love to cache food. (I may be wrong)
Are you okay with locking him in another room if you have small children in the house?
Small squealy=Din dins.
Most places require you to get a liscense to own a hybrid. There are also very few hybrid breeders who are legit. There are few hybrid breeders anyway..
Oh, I found out my neighbour the "wolfdog" breeder got in trouble with the SPCA of my area. haha. XD

These animals are beautiful!!
But if anyone is going to get one they need to be experienced dog owner first. wolf/dog hybirds need to be socilized to everything before get to old. people should not get one just because their cute or the idea of having one is like a dream. these animals need to be taken seriously. THEY ARE NOT FLUFFY PUPPIES!!!!!! to many of these lovely animals end up with rescues because their ignorant owners do not research the "breed". It makes my mad that people who call themselves "dog lovers" would do such a ignorant thing.

something will go here. for now enjoy the waves.

agreed
I dont think the state willingly hands out these licence. these major licences are most likely numbered...not everyone can have one. I know when it comes to being a bar tender the licence is VERY costly and very FEW are given out that way there isnt a bar every which way. I am sure the same goes for these animals.

I looked up pictures of sled dogs, like Alaskan Malamutes ans such, and honestly, I need to ask, what appeals to you about hybrids?
The "coolness" of owning "deh must Butiful anamal EVEH!" the thought of nature in your home or having a wolf because you have a wolf fursona or are, *cough*obsessed*cough* with wolves? Ifyou answered "that's why I want one" to any of the above questions, you are not fit to own one of those animals.
