@Jazi Yeah, she's blue. c:

Thanks guys, I think you're probably right. People often guess there's some boxer in her, too, but I don't know. We really don't know much of anything about her history and I wish we did, but oh well.

I dont' see boxer in her at all. I'd agree with Jazi and Cardinal and say something along the lines of an APBT/Am. Staff mix.

How is her coat? Nice and thick (well, "thick" for a short haired dog), or is it thinning in some areas like on the chest or sides? A lot of blue dogs can have issues with their coats, so I always like to know if someone's blue dog is having that issue, or if they have a nice full coat like they're supposed to.

It's a bit thin in a few spots on her hind legs, but the rest is thick like it's supposed to be.

I highly doubt APBT for Libby, mainly due to the fact that the most common blood lines are Amstaff (which actually can be pretty slender/lean). And I've only seen 3 purebred APBTs in blue without Amstaff heritage.

Most blue pit type dogs you'll see for sale are "Razor's Edge" which started as a Amstaff bloodline (some still is) but became an American Bully bloodline.

But they can be pretty lean, some people keep them thicker since the AKC ring seems to favor it.

These are pure amstaff:

So to be 100% sure, a pedigree is the only thing that can truly differentiate the two for certain. Something that seems to hold true from my experience though is that APBT tend to have a wirey grittier look while Amstaffs look a bit "smoother" and clean cut.

Then again the wirey thing doesn't always hold true. This is Czar, he belongs to a member on another forum I'm on. He's a Razor's Edge dog. Amstaff

And then you can have thick APBTs like the famous Mayday ROM

You'll never know what she is. It's just not possible without knowing her background extensively. She looks like a bully mix. Maybe Amstaff. Maybe APBT. Maybe Stafford. Maybe Ambully. Who knows. Lol. Just call her a bully mix.

You can't really go on build because the bully breed world is a mess with crappy breeders nowadays. Ideally, APBTs are small, lean working dogs in the 20-40 pound range. Amstaffs were created from APBTs and are the show version, often having a little more bulk. Ambullies can either take after the Amstaff side of their heritage and be lean or they can be more mastiff in their build. (Or they can be disgustingly mutated, which is a popular look)

But since there are MANY people who don't breed APBTs true to form anymore, a lot of them look more like Amstaffs. UKC APBTs are generally Amstaffs or Amstaff/APBT. A purebred APBT bred true to form for working purposes is generaly NOT what you're going to find in a shelter or even mixed into a shelter dog's blood. You're better off guessing Amstaff.

Long story short, call her a bully mix.
