    I think I saw something before that could act as a cone-alternative. It's a collar, but it's really thick and tubular so the dog can't really bend all that much to bite or lick at an incision site. It's kind of like a neck-pillow you'd use on an airplane. It's much comfier for the dog as it's fabric and soft instead of a harsh sharp plastic edge.

Make sure you keep an eye on him at all times so he doesn’t scratch or bite his stitches out!

@Taiger Lilly

Yeah I spoke to him about it some since posting. He's fine with the pup being more his dog, he was looking for a shelter pup before my mom came home with this guy. I might have to compromise and get an eskimo (assuming there is a breeder in our area) instead of a pom but I'd be fine with that since it has the same personality as them (He was looking for a medium sized dog)

If he didn't agree I would have still kept him. He's not my ideal dog but at least it's not something unmanageable for me like the collie she tried getting before. He's actually a really sweet little guy.... it's kind of hard not to like him, just not the dog I would have chosen for myself. I'm mostly annoyed with my mom for ignoring me after I explained to her exactly what my plans were for getting a dog and needed to vent. I would have been upset even if she had gotten me the breed I actually wanted.

On a side note; I'll probably leave nail clipping to a professional dog groomer until he's use to it, but I'll keep that in mind for the future.... because nail clippers scare me. :"D

Kes got mail yesterday! Her new Hogwarts robe! Unfortunately it’s too small 😭 so gonna have to see what can be done.

Also I love my agility instructor, she’s so nice! Texted to check on me today and offered to let me come out and watch once I feel up to it. So I’ll def have to take Octavia up to say hi to everyone once she comes home! She also offered to try running Kestrel for me, so I may have her try that at some point. Not sure if Kes will run for her but doesn’t hurt to try lol

Btw any must have toys for puppies? Doing some shopping for Octavia and I swear my brain is mush, I can’t remember what all I need to buy!

OMG that is adorable! Where did you get that?

A pair of kid's pajama pants would work if you can find the right fit. Also check out https://www.tulanescloset.com/

@RWBY Rose - Love the name! :) Also you have every right to be upset at our Mom for what she did. Not only did she disregard your wishes but the welfare of doing in general by going to a BYB. *hugs* I'm glad the pup is working out for you though.

JJ has a ton of muscle, but I can't seem to get her to loose fat. I have to push to feel any of her ribs, and she doesn't have much of a tuck. Her food intake is already pretty low, she's fed 2% of her body weight in raw. Aside from some extra fat, she's incredibly healthy. She's been to the vet recently and all her bloodwork is normal. Any ideas for getting her into shape? We play fetch, tug, and walk about a mile everyday.

Thanks for the help everyone! I'll definitely be looking into those recommendations. We're on day two now and things seem to be getting better, luckily enough. He already seems much less stressed about the cone (although we did upgrade to a clear blue one so he didn't have to keep wearing the dirty white one from the clinic). We also got him a new bed for when he's not in his crate! I might post a few pics later tonight <3
