Update on her. My mom and I took her to the emergency vet last night as I wasn't going to feel comfortable waiting for morning. It was too late to keep her over night at the place she went but got Sub-Q Fluid for dehydration, an injection to help give her a boost to fight back the infection, and we got sent home with prescribed saline drops for her nostrils to help her be able to smell clearer overtime. It seems she has a bit more energy today but keeps circling her food and water bowl so I am hoping she starts eating within the next day after more medicine is given to her.

EDIT UPDATE: she drank some water after getting meds!! still apprehensive about food but it's a start.

Aww yippee! Good to hear she's at least drinking now, she'll be eating that food in no time!

Hi all, my cat Harley was recently diagnosed with FIV after some steady, unexplained weight loss. I was just wondering if anyone else could share experience/stories of caring for a cat with FIV - I would absolutely be consulting her vet before actually taking any advice on board, but was just hoping to hear from any pet owners with actual experience as a lot of what I was finding online was very broad and didn't address the issue of weight loss.

We had a male black fluffy cat once too. The other two we had were black and white, not pure black. The solid black one was technically my sibling’s cat.
