I love wolves, a lot, but I think its ridiculous to be totally exclusive in a love for one species. Plus, as Raella has stated, I firmly believe in protection for the endangered wolf species, and though grey wolves also hold a special place in my heart I'm not against humanely hunting them to ensure that all the species that co-exist with the wolves are also kept safe and happy. As far as Amur leopards go, the very fact that there are only roughly 35 left in the wild is devastating for multiple reasons.
1. That means there are fewer options for mates, thus inbreeding has a much higher probability of occurring.
2. Unlike other endangered species, where one being poached or killed is a problem but not as tragic, every loss means they come closer to extinction
3. A lack of interest, and a lack of awareness towards these beautiful cats means that funding is lower and less can be done to save them.Big cats and wild canine species happen to be my favourite animals, I've heard of the Amur Leopard's before but never really researched them. Having seen this and acquainted myself with them better I really feel that conserving them is important. Particularly where genetics are concerned. What these big cats really need, in my opinion, is some fresh genetics to be added to the mix, that would help produce stronger, healthier cubs and make inbreeding less likely to occur. Just my two cents though XD

Interesting news, everyone; my local(ish) zoo has had a successful breeding between a pair of Amur Leopards. It hadn't happened recently, but close enough to actually hold any meaning. I hadn't known when my family and I went to the zoo, but I was looking at photography on their website and saw that they had bred them. Just felt like sharing. :3
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I HAD seen her. The meaning of 'I hadn't known....' was that I hadn't known that they bred their Amurs. I assumed they rescued her or bought her.

Adding everyone.
And yes kay, it makes you a S.T.A.L.K.er.
Jerome, that's so cool! My zoo doesn't have any Amur Leopards. I never saw one before.
Ashwyn, I agree completely. You want to save Red Wolves? Great. Awesome. Go for it. Just don't say that you care about only wolves. I have actually met someone on here that said that they care about only wolves, and then they accused me of caring about only Amur Leopards. Which is incorrect. My main focus will always be on Amur Leopards, but that doesn't mean I don't give a damn about other species. I've supported Northern White Rhinos and many other endangered animal species, not just the Amur Leopard. Heck, i've even supported saving Iberian Wolves, even though many people claim i'm a wolf hater because I support humane hunting of the Grey Wolf in areas where they're overpopulated and consuming all their prey. Grey Wolves are plenty pretty, as are Mountain Lions and Red Foxes, but in areas where they're becoming a threat hunting needs to come in. I would say the same about Amur Leopards if they were to be overpopulated around the world. I don't hate a specific species or breed of animal because I support the humane culling of it.
"Why do you look so sad?" "I'm thinking about the economy"
