While this certainly isn't anything major, such as some of the awful stories that have been shared here that can be considered abuse, it kind of annoys me when someone else lets either of my cats go outside without my permission first.
To explain, both of my cats are indoor cats. One was once an outside cat, when I lived with my parents, because my father hated any and all animals indoors. Now, I know if she goes out, she can generally take care of herself if she needs to. She's used to fending off other cats if she absolutely needs to. However, she doesn't know the area well, but still has a tendency to try to wander if she gets out. Which means, if you don't keep a very close eye on her and prevent her from going too far in the yard, she can be gone the next minute. Which I learned the hard way as, even when I was watching her closely, she snuck under the fence and went into the neighbor's yard. She was too fast and I was just out of reach to stop her. And, once she's made up her mind to do something, she'll do it. Luckily, that neighbor doesn't have any dogs or other large animals, but that's not the case with several of our neighbors. Others have large dogs and we have some newer neighbors that have small-ish dogs which sometimes get out and roam the street, but don't listen to their owners for anything.
The second was adopted as a kitten and has been an indoor cat her whole life thus far. She just can't handle being outside, without a way to come right back in. She is easily scared by loud noises or sudden movements, even when in the house, even when I'm or anyone else she is used to are the cause of the noise or movement. Outside, she is uneasy already most of the time since she's an indoor cat with very little outside experience, so she is prone to panicking. On top of that, she doesn't know the outside area at all, so if she panics and can't get back inside right away, she tries to run for some kind of cover. If she runs out of the yard, there is a chance she wont even know to come back. When I take her out, its on a cat harness at least half of the time, and I have to keep the back door open the whole time.
Besides, even without the safety reasons, I'm the one that has to give the cats baths if they get too dirty when they go outside. I have to be the one they get mad at for a little while because I got them wet and to risk getting clawed when they have a particularly bad bath experience. Now, do they always claw? No, they usually don't, but some accidental scratches do happen.

I also wanted to say that I wouldn't find your cat disgusting or say such a thing about it. I, for one, think almost all animals are adorable, the hairless ones included. Besides, no one has a right to say such things, given it is not as though the cat chose to be hairless. It was born that way, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
