I'm soooooo jealous of those type of sales(newsflash: no Petcos here)... Like seriously, dollar per gallon = ridiculously cheap tank. x_x

Okay so I started little plant experiment. I put sand and water(half tank, half tap, with dash of fertilizer) in small clear plastic box, put some plants in(saplings from almost all of the plants I have) and the whole thing is sitting in front of a window on my desk. Amazingly, it's been now a week, and the Hydrocotyle Tripartita bunch is showing signs of recovery in form of brand new leaves. :D Put rest of the Tripartitas in the box as well today, so hopefully they perk up as well.

OMG Nobody told me that! I officially love Petco now! I'm kinda short on pocket money, but whatever. My five gallon isn't enough to get those big cool fish!
Hmm....how much in total would a 10 gallon tank cost? With filter, heater, rocks, and some decorations? I'm too lazy to do the math. I might try platies..
Does anyone know how to accomadate a ghost shrimp?
What to feed it?
How to transfer into the tank? <------ Please answer this one especially!
Can you actually see them digesting food?
Would a 1 1/2 fish be able to eat it? Or would it eat a 1 inch fish?
Can they be netted out like fish or do they have to stay in the water at all times?
What do I do when I'm siphoning out the tank? Will they get sucked up?
I used to be sugar pixel .

Does anyone have particular filters/heaters/lights they'd recommend for a 30 gallon? uvu I wanna set this one up right. My budget isn't huge but if the expensive stuff is really the best I'll save up. <3

My poor betta didn't make it. </3 Does anyone have good websites/info about betta care? I want to learn just everything I can before I possibly try again. uwu;
I'm traveling til Friday w/ no access to my tablet!

Mostly quitting CS; I'll check messages on occasion but DA or Skype is probably a better place to contact me.

Don't know if they are available were you live, but filter vise JBL and Fluval I've heard good stuff(and I have a Fluval myself as well), but are not super expensive. Tank of that size can work with an internal filter(or two) only, which is lot cheaper than canister filter. Both JBL and Fluval internals have the option to put bio media in, which ups the bacteria surface. When you clean them, you also don't have the clean all of the media at once as the media is divided into different slots. Depending how you will stock the tank, you might want to go for tad bigger filter(or get 2) than the package says. But other vise Fluval U3 or JBL i100 is what I'd go for. Juwel also makes pretty good internal filters, but I'm not sure about the price. They are also relatively big, which on other hand is good, but they will also take space in the tank.
Out of heaters, honestly, I think 99% of fish people here have Jäger/Eheim heaters. XD Good, durable and can be put totally under water. You might need to adjust it little lower than your wanted water temperature though, since mine keeps the water nicely at 26C while being set only around 21,5C. Lights can also warm up the tank a bit if they sit directly above the tank, and if there's more than 1 bulb.
Lights depend weather or not you want to have live plants. If not, well any fluorescent bulb and type works, maybe lower power would be better to prevent some algae. Though if you do want plants, then I'd recommend either at least 2x18W, but if you can get 2xT5 bulbs that's even better. If you can just get one bulb lights, then go for T5 rather than T8. T5 are slimmer and more powerful than T8, even if the lenght is same. Light how ever, from my experience are not cheap(T5 is more expensive, but the bulbs last longer and more power so...). XP I'm currently looking for better lights to my tank and I'd need to get maybe 150 euros to get what I'd want new.
But key to cheap tank setting: buy stuff used. ;)

How many gallons is your tank?: 10
Number and Type of fish in tank: A couple guppies, and two cory cats. I know I should have three, but my mom keeps only buying me one.
How long has it been running?: A year in October!
Did you cycle it?: Yep
If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels?: I'm sorry, I can't get that right now.
What is the issue or question?: When I checked on my fish yesterday, I noticed that one of my corys seemed to have a bite mark taken out of him. It wasn't bleeding, but it still looked painful. This particular cory, Robin, used to be one of the most active fish in the tank. Now, he is just laying there refusing to move unless I almost touch him with the net. (I don't, but I have to get close) Then he just swims a couple centimeters away, and sits there. His breathing is if anything, slower than normal. He doesn't follow my other cory, Lucah, around anymore.
Any other information?: At the beginning of summer, I had another cory in with Lucah before Robin. This cory, Dakota, died in almost the same way. She was fine all day, I walked in in the evening, and she had a large bloody hole in her side. She just kinda floated around, and died the next morning. The wounds look almost the exact same on the two fish. When Dakota died, I took out any scratchy and sharp items (There was like one). I didn't think this would happen again. Also, I have been on vacation for two weeks. My fish-sitter didn't clean the tanks at all, and the algae got so bad that you couldn't see into the tank. I did a really good cleaning last night. Also, I moved Robin into a breeder net in my tank to keep the wound from getting any worse. This morning I put in aquarium salt and a stress coat. What else can I do for Robin, and do you think Lucah is the one killing off the smaller corys? If so, how can I stop this?

And I understand that I shouldn't have a Comet in a Ten Gallon but my stupid brother got it from a Carnival and I'm still trying to find someone to take it in. He's only like 2 inches right now, but still. x.x

Your tiger barb isn't territorial, he's just being a tiger barb. Honestly, the only territorial barbs I have come across so far are panda barbs.
Tiger barbs are, to put it in short, jerks. They can and will rip up anything slower than them, even other barbs, unless they're in huge spacious tanks in large numbers, like a random example would be a 125g with maybe 45 barbs.
Barbs are schooling fish, and should be in at least a school of 6. I mean, sure he can be alone, but I'd imagine it would be very lonely since they're a schooling fish. I would advise that you get 5 more buddies for your tiger and find a spare tank or something for your comet so he doesn't get ripped up beyond repair. If it gets bad enough I wouldn't think twice about putting him in an empty pretzel jar or something until someone could take him.
If your tiger is a male (his nose will be really red if it's a boy, and really light pink or white if it's a girl- alternatively, the red stripe on the dorsal fin will be more red and thicker for males and more pale and thinner for females) you'll want to get large females and maybe 1 other male minimum for the rest of his school. Male tigers fight by biting each others faces and ripping tails off. But they're hard to sex until they reach 2.5"+, and most places only sell them around 1".
If you don't want more jerky tiger barbs, but want to get friends for your barb, you could try getting female black ruby barbs to put with your tiger barb. The females look similar to tiger barbs, and will school together, but the female black rubies are not quite as nice looking. However, female black ruby barbs are much more peaceful than tiger barbs. Male black ruby barbs are gorgeous, but it's not all the time (they change colors during different times of the day) and they'll fight other males and harass the females, so it's better to have just females if you don't have a lot of space for the females to get away from the males.
Sorry it took me so long to respond to the thread. I had a long day yesterday.
Also, I'm really sorry this is so long ugh I type too much...
Feel free to pm me anytime if you have any questions (:

Thank you for such a long reply. xD
The fish-store-people that I was asking questions to about the barbs said that they were really nice and could be alone. e_e So thank you for telling me that wasn't true. I'll try and buy some more for my tank, there is another Lamp-eye Tetra in the tank, but he never attacks him, just the Comet. About how many Tigers should I get with the three fish I have in my tank (Lamp eye, Full grown Tiger Barb, and then the to-be-rehomed Comet)? Also would it help to heavily plant my tank/provide more hides?

By lamp-eye, do you mean the red-eye tetra? I'm not familiar with the name lamp-eye. Barbs and tetras tend to do okay together, because tetras are fast enough to avoid the barbs, and some tetras are actually kind of nippy, themselves. After you find a home for the comet you could probably get some tetras and some barbs, maybe around 6 total, just get whatever you like the most. But stick with fast, short-finned tetras or barbs. They should school together and be fine as long as they don't have long fins. Plants are a big yes, do get some plants if you have the chance. Hides are more of an aesthetic with barbs, I've found. My tiger barbs never enter the hides in the tank, like ever. The panda barbs are the only barbs that ever do. But they love the plants, they always hang around the plants when sick or tired. So I'd get some plants and maybe some driftwood or something for decoration. Sorry I took so long to respond.

Well the tank would be 10 bucks plus taxs. Tetra filters are half off right now so maybe another 10 bucks if you went that route. The rest you would have to actually go to the store or go online to compare prices since I don't know how you wanna decorate it.
I might try platies..

Sinking bottom feeder pellets.

How to transfer into the tank? <------ Please answer this one especially!

just like fish only net them them out unless absolutely needed.

What do I do when I'm siphoning out the tank? Will they get sucked up?
Get a siphon with a cover and pay attention.

Ah! A new forum. Great to see you guys again! :D

Username: wolfdragon89
How many fish tanks do you have: 4
Types of fish that you have: I have 2 bettas, a guppy, and a mosquito fish.
Your fishs' names: Gallifrey(Betta) Colbalt(Betta) Doctor(Guppy) Sarah Jane(Musquito fish)
How long have you had fish: About 1 year

Also if you have pictures of you fish we would love to put a link to them next to your name! If you have a tank with a lot of fish you are welcome to just put a picture of your tank. Please do not post the pictures on the actual forum since they do take up space; just the link will do (one or two small photos is okay)
I'll fix this later.

If you're going through a tough time, I want you to know that you can always PM me. Even if you just want to rant to me, I'm here.

Keep watching the wound. If you have any pictures, that would be great. Has Lucah ever shown any aggressive behavior? Separating him from the others for a short period of time could help.
