      hey there ,
so i'm not too sure , if this is an okay thing to bring up here on this thread , so please inform me if not , so i can delete ?

but recently one of my moms friends passed away , leaving behind two cats and a dog ,, one of the cats had gotten a home , along with the dog , but the one cat who hadn't , is now living with me and is mine ,,
she's a lovely cat , and is quite shy , and is still a bit shaken over everything that has happened ,, it's been almost a week now , since i got her home , and she has only just began eating two days ago , which i'm very happy about ,, she is also using her litter box a bit more , and exploring ,,
but anyways , she was born having her paw , like , look at your hand , and imagine it stretched out a bit from your arm , and your wrist on a complete ninety-degree angle , so every time you're crawling , you're walking on / with your wrist ,, do that make sense ? but , i've come to notice , that because of how she is , a lot of her littler gets packed onto her dangling paw , as she does not cover her , business up well , when she is done ,,
i had this problem before , with an elderly cat who had his front paw ripped off , and the other twisted side ways , but the thought of changing the litter has not occurred to me , until now ,,

so , my main question , does anyone have an idea on what litter i could use , to prevent this from happening further ?
does anyone use breeze pellets ? i was wondering if they'd pack onto her a lot less ?

      thank you ,, < 3

Technically non-clumping litter would stick less, but of course that kind of litter is a pain to use. This page does have some options that generally stick less to paws than others. It lists the pros and cons for each one that they recommend so you can make a decision based on that.

      Feeding schedule:

What feeding schedule do you have for your cats? Once a day, twice a day, etc.?
My little darling is incredibly annoying and wants to be fed constantly and wakes me up at 3am for food and it's irritating. Even though I've been feeding him in the morning and before bed.

I feed mine twice a day, once in the morning and once around midday. They also have some biscuits they eat in the evening before we shut them outside for the night. That’s the only way we stop them from waking us up at three in the morning, but if your cat is exclusively indoors, there is not much you can do.

Hey! I own two cats ones about half a year old and the other is 6 years old!
But they both like to claw at furniture instead of the cat post I bought them...
I'm curious but by any chance does anyone know what I can do you fix this?

may i ask if this is something new or trained in since you have the cat? or did you change how much you give or new food.....
...if it is more or less new...maybe let your vet have a look at his blood....it could be that your cat will not do it to bother you but really feels like he Needs to get something to eat or gets sick.
when it is because of new food or whatever and he does not get enough for what he needs, then maybe look into this feeder bowl that will open up at a set time, so he may eat and let you sleep :)

maybe they are just not interesting and fun enough, are at the wrong place, not eough for each cat..not big enough or heavy enough...the feeling could be wrong for there claws... and such....how many places to scratch ,climb up and jump did you set up?

also put something they can scratch and claw there way up, at the place they love to go^^
also when you put something at the place they love to scratch up bevor...and you see them use the new scratch place give them a treat or play with them or such or clicker train them that it will be good to go to there own places not some furniture
or make it a game to use this places you have that they can use there claws on, while hunting a toy when you play with the cats^^
Please klick them or they will die°°!!!

Try giving them more options for scratching. I buy cardboard scratchers, they're only a couple bucks at most pet stores/supercenters and they usually last a while. I've got 3 cats and it takes them at least a month to use one up.
If you've got discount stores like Ross, they've got bigger scratchers that are more interesting to cats (I personally bought one that's in a loose "S" shape, my cats love it), and things you can hang on doors that have different fabrics on them so your cats can have different textures to scratch on. Of course you can find things like that at a pet store also, I just personally prefer discount stores because they're cheaper and usually the same quality anyway. It also helps to have more than one scratching post, at least one per cat. Otherwise, if you've got one cat that's more dominant than the other, they'll guard the post and won't let the other cat use it.

You can also buy sprays that are supposed to deter cats from scratching, but I personally haven't had much success with them since the scent doesn't linger long. If it's really getting to be a problem, you could try deterrents. They're little battery-powered devices that spray water or air whenever something gets close to them, so if you set one up close to where the cats try to scratch, it will detect them and spray them. Deterrents like these work better than just spraying your cat with water because they don't know where the water/air came from, so they begin to associate the area with that and will usually leave it alone.

I found some small pet beds on sale at Walmart for $7, so I bought one figuring the cats might be interested for a minute at least. Literally from the time I set it down to now, Pumpkin has been laying in it. She even kneaded it for a while and started like, "grooming" it. I think it's safe to say that the pet bed purchase was worth it.

Hi
Ok so in England right now its six o'clock in le morning. I own two very different cats. One is chubby, lazy, and eats all his food in about three seconds. We thought buying a girl cat would teach him to get outside more, but that didnt happen. Sheis energetic and cant stay still for more that 10 seconds. When its cold and rainy in winter she goes nutso. She runs all around the house due to what we call 'cabin fever'.Anyway, my dad decided to let them stay up stairs because we usually keep them in the kitchen, because they always wake up and 4:00 and start nagging my dad for food. It was me and our lazy cat until 5:25 AM. She came and joined us. She is always near my fish tank, scaring all the fishies :( So i was paying her alot of attention to distract her. Then everything got muddled up and i decided that i should take them down. So then i did in the dark, and it was so scary T^T
Hope you like our story :)

Cat story/question...

I adopted a cat just over 2 years ago. She has always been very wary of people, but over the time I have had her, we have been able to work out most of the fear. She really only becomes skittish if someone clomps in with shoes on. I live in a small apartment with a roommate and her cat, who is similar in age to mine.
Almost a year ago, with no apparent trigger, my cat began to cry pitifully whenever I was gone. As of recently she will cry if I am so far as in the other room. The other cat is of zero help. Sometimes, she cries for me and when I go to comfort her, she looks at me as if I am a scary monster and shakes and runs away. This especially happens at night. I adopted her as an adult cat (~1-2 year old, had a litter of kittens) and I do not know what her past was like.

She was recently diagnosed with suspected cat PTSD (this is very real and can crop up at any time post-trauma). I am working with her on her stress levels by offering her rewards for nights she hasn't cried, and treating particularly bad nights with hemp oil.

A side effect of her recent decline is excess weight. She hides a lot and gobbles her food so fast, sometimes even gobbles the food intended for my roommate's cat. She is currently off the 'chunker chart' (a full 7/9 for the veterinarians out there).

SOS! Anyone out there know of a "low-calorie??" cat food that she can gobble a bunch of? She eats gluten-free.

I'd recommend asking a vet what kind of diet would be best for her. They'll know best. What I can recommend, though, is for you to get a slow feed dish, sort of like this one. It should help slow her pace, and the mental stimulation it provides might even help her calm down a bit.
