I wonder if there's some way to teach it to a dog who rarely barks?
Ooo that weaving through a rolling hoop sounds cool! Well I wish you both luck and hope you find some free time for yourself and Lola this summer! ^^

Random training from this morning. Working on a new random trick because I had a pole. :P Haha, I found two of those driveway reflector pole thingys in the garage and Dad said I could use them for whatever. So...I used it. XD
She's almost got it down, and even went around the pole then around the birdbath on cue, but it's not on this video.
I'm such a sloppy trainer XP /dies- - -

Dixie at the farm supply/feed store. She might look uncomfortable in this pic, but trust me. She was happy as a clam, tail waving the whole time. Save for the fact - they had no air conditioning and she was hot. >-<

I need your help!I'm entering Dixie into a pet photo contest but can't decide on a photo! I've finally narrowed it down to these two. what do you think?
Please place your vote in the poll! c:

Or I may just take a completely new one with Dixie balancing several objects.

Thanks to everyone who voted! I entered Dix this morning and the voting takes place at an event that animal control and some local rescues are holding tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Past few days have been rough, but I guess it can turn out good...in some ways. Meaning I spend more one-on-one time with Dixie alone and uninterrupted. Took her for an hour long walk with my eldest sister and the other dogs. Dix did good. Then I took her for another long walk today, but by herself. A neighbor down the street has a Labrador/poodle mix. She came running from the backyard but stopped as soon as her owner called her. (She's a very friendly dog). I was afraid of how Dixie might react seeing a strange dog come running like that (we were about 10-15ft away and I started walking to the opposite side of the street). Dixie, though walking stiff and staring for a few seconds, was easily redirected with her ball and treats.

A poodle named Bella won the photo contest. Congrats to Bella! (You're still the cutest in my eyes, baby girl, my Dixie gal <3)
Had a really good training session this evening until I tripped over a tree root and fell flat on my face. Unfortunately I wasn't recording at the time so ya'll don't get to see that.

Dixie grabbed the ball from me and trotted off, leaving my lying there. Then she came back after I rolled over and looked at me like I was weird. Ah yes, this dog just loves me to pieces.

Haha, well I'm sorry I didn't get it on video. XD

I've got a headache today, bruises, and a couple of scratches on the bridge of my nose.

We've been practicing "touch it" with blue tape on the end of a stick today. By this evening Dixie became determined to keep touching it. XD She used to know the trick, but we hadn't done it in a while. I'm pretty sure she'd do or go just about anywhere just to reach that tape and touch it.
Anybody know any tricks you can teach using "touch it"? She already alerts me to an alarm clock (she learned that when we were working on 'touch it' more.)

I just use a portion of her daily meals (TOTW kibble). Or I'll use a tug toy or her favorite ball. c: if we're working out in public, I'll use a higher value treat mixed in with kibble, or I'll let her carry her tug toy (she loves to carry things).
