You do realize that this is, essentially, a debate thread, and that's what they're supposed to do, right? Other people have strong opinions as well.

Now, why does it appear to me I'm being ganged up on? Sorry if that offends anyone, but if you saw it from my veiw...

Why would you hold onto an opinion that you know has negatives?
Are you against humanely killing pigs, cows and other animals? If not, why is it bad to hunt wolves if the body is used?

Yes, people do debate in this thread, and that's not going to stop. Debating is not a bad thing unless people are being rude (which people on both sides of the argument have been; those posts should be reported). You're allowed to argue against my opinion as I'm allowed to argue against yours.

What are negatives to you?

To me;

Pros;

Less disease
Less starvation
Less enroaching animals
Less territorial fights
People arr kept warm
Money is made so families can get by
Meat
Education
Less deaths overall due to the above

Cons;

Poor wolves die, even if they die with or without hunting

More pro's: Healthier wolf populations since lots of hunters (or at least the ones I know) kill off the weak/sick/elderly who would have died soon anyways.

what are the negatives? what about other animals? what makes them [cows, pigs, deer, rabbits, etc.] worth so much less than wolves? how is it wrong for humans to hunt, but ok for wolves and other animals that are naturally predators [as we are] to hunt?
no one's trying to gang up on you, just questioning your opinions. you can choose not to reply if you wish.

and the cons/pros already listed pretty much sum up everything else i was going to say.

Pros:
Takes weaker wolves out of the breeding pool, therefore enhancing the species
Allows people to see them up close and develop a liking for them
Others mentioned by other people

Cons:
Wolves end up dieing

Wolves can also feed a hungry family quite well, and it costs far less than butcher meat and is healthier, assuming you're not buying animals freshly slaughtered/organic meat.

I hear they taste like chicken, too.

I don't think I could ever eat a wolf unless I couldn't afford anything else. I have an odd habit of not eating anything that includes canine or feline meat. I'm completely fine when other people eat it, though.

Pros and cons of responsible wolf hunting:

Pros:
Wolf population kept under control
Other species are kept in balance; therefore improving ecosystem
Healthier wolves thrive
Can be studied for anatomy
Pelt/fur can be used as clothing
Money is earned
Meat can be used for food
Skills are learnt through the hunting and use of the animal

Cons:
An animal is killed
Affects the pack of the wolf if the wolf was of significance (alpha, pregnant wolf, mother of nursing pups, etc)

pretty sure it's illegal to hunt during spring time when pups are born? can't be sure on that though
