This is what we did today! She had a load of fun chasing and digging for sticks and pebbles we were tossing into the water. Now her paws and muzzle are tinted a rust color and she smells weird. :l Also pulled 4 ticks off of her once we got home, fantastic.

This is her now after a fun day. xP

Image Completely done with me.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

Dixie went in to get her heartworm test at her vet appt this morning and she did great. ^^ There were several dogs in and out at separate times, and Dixie only glanced at them briefly and then at me for treats. ;v; The only time she didn't do so well was when the vet tech took her leash from me to take her back to draw blood. D; She walked away with her fine but then realized I wasn't following.
(She tested heartworm negative, btw!)

Eerk 600? small? My school has 60 people xD

I have confirmation training tomorrow night with L for the first time in yonks as i have been on holidays! I will be interested to see if he is still his up-himself self or if he has settled down since last time we went. i found a picture of him at 9 weeks old at the breeders house and when we got back home. Once i get a hold of mums phone ill have to post them. Its so astonishing how much your little baby grows without you even realizing

What do you do when you run into a BIG and SCARY LEAF?!!?!?
You bark and lunge and growl at it until you realize it is just a leaf. Then you eat it.

aka: my dog is a doofus

so, we recently adopted 4 Sebastopol (pronounced: seh bass toe pool) geese. Maggie and layla have been herding them around our yard and it's the darndest thing cause they aren't herding-breed dogs. they're hunters.

is it normal for labs to do this? XD

Those are awesome photos, and I'd totally hire you to take pictures of Epic, but alas, we're probably a couple thousand miles away.

Epic is mastering the art of staying and waiting before going through doors. And the hand targeting games we have been playing are starting to be useful in teaching her heel.
My dad, via my mom, had suggested I take videos, like vlogs of my progress with Epic, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make myself do it.
Oh, and we had some spare cardboard around so I made two short jumps. They aren't the sturdiest but it's nice when Epic hits them 'cause it can't hurt her and just falls over. It took a bit to get her consistently over the jump and the rewards changed to keep her attention, but she got it.
And I made a cardboard box four or five foot tunnel which she loved going through, but then she jumped on it so it kind of broke.

I did however find a lady who does dog training in the nearest city (45 minutes to 1 hour away), she does clicker training and has/did have all sorts of classes from before a puppy comes and basic obedience to advanced obedience, agility and freestyle. I actually met her (I didn't know it was her), and she's doing an agility competition next month in my 'front yard'.

well, here come the tears
i had an amazing black lab named Lorelei, and sunday marked the day that she was PTS last year
well, a full year w/ out my baby. she lived a good life, 11 years. she could've lasted more i bet, but she had osteosarcoma and it had eaten away all but 1" of her shoulder bone.

i'm sorry if i just dampened everyone's parade, but i'm seriously in tears right now...

Help!
I'm a new puppy owner and my 11 week old border colliex bites hard. Its not just mouthing all the time, but when she gets playful, she gets to excited and bites, its not just missing her toy, she actually goes for me and bites my arms, legs, knees, hands, toes and anywhere in between, we've never been encouraging it like saying 'awww how cute' when she gently bites our fingers or something. Its getting stupidly hard and very annoying! We've tried the 'Ow' thing to try to stop it but it only makes her bark and shes usually a very quiet dog. We've also tried the leaving the hand or arm or whatever limp until shes bored of it (I didn't think this was a good idea but we'll try anything now) she didn't get bored and I felt it was only encouraging the action. We've also tried just shoving a toy into her mouth but she always comes back next time as strong as ever, please if anyone has any tips we're really in need!
