Comrade wrote:So today I finally put in my application to adopt a cat (since the passing of my cat back in February) and shes 14 years, 7 months. The shelter said it should be no problem adopting her since no one else has put in an application and shes technically a "long term resident". Shes pretty healthy for a senior who was found a stray, but she does have trouble hearing. Which isnt a problem for me, because my cat who passed lost his hearing at around 11 due to illness. I think from now on I'm only going to adopt senior cats, because it breaks my heart that they live out their days in a shelter.
I cant post a pic yet (I have to adopt her first) but shes an orange tabby with beautiful green eyes. The shelter gave her the name Cheeseburger and I think I might keep it hahaha
so good to hear i wish more where like you . my local shelter that i volleteer as just had a bonded pair who where 12 and 14 fillaly adopted after 4 months of being up for adoption, there are so many golden oldies who get over looked because people want the kittens (anything over 6 months most the time but some push that to a year old) and some of them are so so sweet while the kittens can be nightmares to deal with. on the other end a kitten adopted 4 months ago came back today ): this is his 3ed time in the shelter the poor thing , he has had so much happen in the year and a half since the shelter frist found him i just want him to find a home that wants him
i need a new signature

Speaking of Adoptions, Gremlin and Wisp went to their new home yesterday.
I really miss them, but they are in a good home that will take care of them for the rest of their lives and get them neutered when they are older.
For now they are being called the chubby one and the skinny one lol no wonder why (excuse their dirty faces) :

Wow, those cats look like a cat that I have, but he's fatter and fluffier then him.

I swear my cats are so weird sometimes. I recently set up my old PS3 so I can play some games on it. It sits in this little cabinet in my entertainment center, with glass doors. Pumpkin didn't care about that cabinet at all until it was opened, now she acts like there's some monster living in it.

I think it's probably just the noise the console makes when it's on that's weirding her out, but it's still kinda funny to see her reactions.

@stumpy oh my gosh that sounds so cute! i wish my cats were that sweet.
@queenie cats will be cats and cats are weird.
my cat is as dumb as a rock. so tiny has some separation anxiety when it comes to me. she likes to be in the same room as me most of the time and if i go to another room she follows after me. if she can't find me she just wails until i find her. at night she sleeps at the foot of my bed. so i leave my bedroom door open a crack to allow her in and out of my room if needed. but last night i think she thought my door was closed because for a good while she sat outside my room and wailed even though my door was open for her.

Maybe she has a vision problem..
And she does seem like a very clingy cat. Maybe you could hire a catsitter so she won't be so lonely when you're gone.
