One of my cats, Her name is Mimi, She can be very demanding but at the end of the day she is the most loving cat you will ever find, She also has such a loud purr that we sometimes call her a motor boat!
She also likes to tear things up, She makes such a mess of my room!

aww thankyou. Sprite was abandoned on the street and left to die before she was old enough to be away from her mother. She was covered in fleas and starving and freezing when someone found her and took her to the vet, then she was given to a petshop where she was being given out for free. Luckily I walked in when I did because she was getting quite a lot of interest. Since then she's been a perfectly healthy and slightly naughty kitty (she even pulled her stitches out when she got fixed and the vets were amazed at how fast she was healing)
we also call her a motor boat when she really gets going
luckily sprite stopped tearing things up, she just likes to hide in my stuff and jump out at us. When she wants attention she makes sure to get it by walking all over everyone purring and kneading their legs and stomachs, and gently nibbling on fingers and noses (especially when I'm asleep)
when all is lost darkness still remains

What does it mean when your cat, who has had ear mites all his life, suddenly gets sick from them? I'm curious about what happened.

Because my step-dad is allergic to cats, and because I couldn't bear to part with the cat who had been by my side since I was three, he stays down in a basement. Well, I was checking on him, and his skin was bumpy. He was extremely thin, which was odd, since he had always been so fat and stocky. His fur was patched, and he often scratched at his entire body. Because of these bumps, he would bleed when he scratched them.

I felt so bad for him! He must've been in so much pain! We didn't know what he could've caught; it defenetly wasn't fleas. Our dog had them at the time, and it was possible he could've gotten them, but they had never done this to him before. He wasn't eating or drinking much, which made me worry he was terribly sick.

My step-dad, of course, said he would work his way through it. My mom and I worried a little, but because we had two babies to take care of, we didn't take him to the vet. We found these wierd-looking, black and yellow bugs sitting on the carpeted shelf he lays on often. I caught creeped out, almost threw up, and told my step-dad and mom. They cleaned it up, but weeks went by and he didn't change.

Weeks turned into months, and eventually, I thought we needed to take him to the vet. I would ask mom to do that constantly, but we never did. My friend were afraid to touch him because of how he looked. I slapped them on the arms because of it. xD

Anyways, he finally got rid of it, and he's now the lovable, fluffy, fat cat I know. <3

But I'm still curious; what could that have been? I've asked my friends, and they thought it was the ear mites that had caused it. But I'd like some more explanations for this.

Does anyone here have a cat that this happened to? Or does anyone know what that could've been?

HI, I have a question. Alright to begin i have to start when my mother found a kitten on the road, we named her Marie, for the white Disney character. She was the sweetest thing and we really bonded, but my mother is allergic to cats and we had to giver her away, now she is the meanest thing alive, hissing and clawing, I even went to visit her once last year and she was happy and playful but almost half a year later she wants to kill everything in sight. is there an explanation anyone could give me to why she does those things now?

Maybe, she's a inside cat, i don't know if that prevents them from going feral

Sometimes when cats feel detached from someone they love, they act... different.
My cats sister died and she was all depressed and did nothing but sleep all day (which is out of character for her, she's usually all happy and fiesty).

My cat didn't act different. When he was sick, he would skitter away from us. Probably because he didn't want us messing with his "disease." After that, he was perfectly fine. He never did seem depressed about being away from me, because I often came to him, and he gave me twice as love whenever I couldn't see him, like when I was busy with school or family matters.

I was just curious about what those bumps could've been. Ear mites are supposed to stay in the ears, correct? Or can they travel to the rest of a cat's body? OOOORRRR, was it something different that caused it? o.e This hurts my brain to think about it.
