Not-so-good news.
Dixie has been doing very good about not doing any major flipping out anymore when she see another dog, but the other day we had just left the house for a walk, and an elderly lady with her miniature schnauzer happened to be leaving their driveway (also going walking).
I started walking Dixie to the opposite side of the street, but not soon enough, I guess. Dixie started twisting around, barking, snarling, left me with a leash burn, bit my hand (My fault. Didn't break the skin though), and somehow managed to twist around so much that her halti's strap got into her mouth and she chewed it in half in literally only a few seconds. (Note to self: Buy a new head halter.)
This was the worst reaction I've ever seen out of her. :c She calmed down pretty quickly once we were a ways away. I guess it didn't help that she was all wound up before her walk from no exercise the day before (it was blazing hot).

She doesn't react when walking inside/outside of PetSmart or in public. But I definitely need to get on the ball and start working in the neighborhood more often. I've been slacking on that, and working with her and our other dogs lately. XP

It would be nice to run on a lovely day but since I live in Texas, the weather is always coo-coo. One day it's 60 degrees the next its 90. I would really like to run around in the summer, but last year we had a 100° degree weather streak for like 2 months {no joke}
I have a dog and all, but he has some problems of his own. He's 4 now. We've had him since he was 2 mo. and he has never been the running type. He's always had short legs so he has never been very fast {like German Shepherd fast} so he would never run when we would take him to a park. He likes to swim, but the only times he can do that is when my mom lets him ><
gah. it would be nice to have a large dog {though I still love my a lot}

There are always fun things and exercises to do even if your dog doesn't care for running, fetch, etc. c: When it's too hot to play fetch and train outside (quickest way to wear her out!), we'll sometimes work on tricks inside, play hide and seek with toys, or things like that.
But, yes! I have relatives in TX and they're always talking about the weather. D:

well, he has such short legs and long hair that doing any exercise wears him out. he doesn't fetch well, all he does is run after the toy {sometimes he doesn't even do that} then comes running back and past you.

but actually, he's a mutt. the vet couldn't figure out what he was cx
he has the face of a schnauzer, the tail of a pug, the bark of a doberman {he has a loud bark!}, the legs and body of a dachshund and the hair of a german shepherd. so yeah. he's.. weird

have you ever tried agility with your dog, lufris?
At my agility group we have everything from Border Collies, Terrier mixes and even a dachsund! A couple of cockapoos, a few labradors and my lurcher and another lurcher. Even a pair of toy poodles c: your dog may enjoy it :)
