we really are on about the grey wolf all them time i think we need to expand our conversation to include wolves like the red wolf or the dire wolf (im sorry if thats not spelt right and also i dont think its fair that people dont think animals have the same rights as humans)

yep! animals definitely deserve the same rights! and sorry about the other wolves. I do most of my studies on gray's, and gray sub-species, so i don't really know all that much about the other wolves... i mean yes, i know more than the average person (a lot more) but it's not quite enough to help debate and use facts to support them.

I admit that I'm not that fond of the red wolf that lives now. That's only because I'm not sure how much coyote is in them. It's sad. In my opinion, a cross-bred wolf and coyote is not a red wolf. It's a coyote mix.
My two favorite breeds of wolf are the Iberian and Ethiopian wolves. They're both so pretty! I adore the red color of an Ethiopian Wolf's coat <3
Of course, because of their low numbers, I'd hate to see one off of the wolf.
This really isn't the place to discuss animal rights, guys.

well, the red wolf actually is a species. not a wolf/coyote mix. It is just extremely hard to tell wolf/coyote mixes apart from red wolves. i'm not like you, disliking them because of their might-be "mud blood" but i pity them. there were so few wolves where the people did continue to hunt, that they had no choice but to breed with the coyotes... really sad.
i read a book about them a while ago and when people went on a rescue mission to save the pure ones, they found 225 possible wolves. in the end, only 32 were pure... so sad...

That's what I meant to say, sorry I worded it...oddly.
It's sad, because they are such a beautiful species.
I don't agree with their still being hunted when there were so few. In my opinion, that is poaching, even if it was "legal".

The red wolf is largely thought by scientists to have always been a grey/coyote mix.
