Here is my boy Elvis! He is an Abby! ( They spiky furred ones) and we hav him for about 3 years now, he LOVES his hay! Well, here are some photos.

I'm excited that I found this topic ^.^ I absolutely love guinea pigs! I currently have two Luna and Thelma. Luna I rescued with another piggy named Star. Unfortunately Star passed away approximately a year ago from an unknown medical condition When I told my coworkers, one offered me Thelma and I took her in and absolutely love her

Here's my fat guinea pig! His name is Nemo. He's got a big booty.



I got him a few months ago. I don't know how old he is, maybe a year?
My mom's co-worker's friend was too busy to take care of him, so she was looking for a new owner, and my mom decided to take him. (He's not really hers though, I'm the only one who plays with him and feeds him / cleans his cage, although my mom does buy the food.)

He chirps a lot, especially when he hears me opening the refrigerator. It sounds like "Re, re, roo! Roo roo! Reee!"
And when I pet his butt, he purrs and it sounds like a squirrel lol.
It's my first time owning a guinea pig. He was actually so fat when I got him that I was scared he was actually a female and was pregnant x'D. I looked up how to tell a guinea pig's gender for weeks and still wasn't sure if he was really a he.
But, he never had a baby, so...that's good. lol.

He's SOOO lazy! Even leaving the cage open, he might just hop out for a few minutes a day and then hop back in. I put him on the bed and he just sits there. If I put him in my lap, he instantly gets all nice and cozy and falls asleep. So lazy. He's never run before XD

My guinea-pigs sadly both passed away, a few years ago but I still adore guineas <3

I'm intrested to know whether you guys think boars or sows get along better when kept in groups/pairs as my two boys had to be kept seperately for 90% of their lives due to fighting. :c

If given enough space and if attention is paid to introductions and personalities males and females can get along equally well. We'd go with females in general only because they can do fine in a slightly smaller cage. We only had males but out of all the ones we had only one didn't get along with anyone else.

Hi! (First post woo)

How have i not found this yet??? I absolutely love guinea pigs, I have had 4 but currently i have 2! I got my two boys (biological brothers) from a rescue for small animals. They are the absolute sweetest things. They are older boys (5-6 years old) but they are still very energetic and healthy! Their names are piggy and snuggles. Piggy is a bicolor and he got his name because he eats like a pig (he likes to hog all the food) and snuggles is a tricolor and got his name because he is a very soft and gentle guy who will sit on your lap all day if you let him(with pets and snuggles included of course). i'll try to see if i can get pictures!

Heyy,
After l a year of researching , I finally got some cavies! I got a tri-color american. I named him Moose. I adopted him from a pet store that he was given to.He is 4 years old. On Friday, I got him a friend. I named his friend Bear. Bear is 4 months old. I find that Moose doesn't care for Bear but Bear follows him around, making him mad. Then they get in a fight. They are doing better. I have them in the Midwest Guinea Pig Habitat Plus with a divider in the middle. Any tips would be much appreciated! I will be sure to update Y'all later!
