hi everyone. i've searched google and it doesnt hold the answer, so i'll ask here.
my cat faith is an extremely anxious cat. she wasn't like that at birth, but growing up she developed the trait along the way and it's gotten worse.
she's scared of everyone. she refuses to let someone touch her, and despite being overweight, will somehow drag herself underneath a couch just to get away from people. the only person she'll let touch her is me, and that's only at certain times. she cuddles me while i'm asleep but as soon as i wake up and have to get ready for the day, it's as if she hates me.
but the issue is, that in my house we have two living rooms. they're fairly close to each other and not many people go in the front living room, since it's usually the hang-out spot/gaming room. faith is obsessed with that room. it gets pretty cold in there so we tend to keep the door closed in winter, but whenever it's closed and she's not in it she'll cry at the door for hours, non-stop, just wanting to get in. and as soon as the door opens, she bolts and doesnt come out until im going to bed.
is there any way to get her unattached to the room? i'm really not sure what to do - i've been keeping the door closed but she just wont stop crying. i dont want to force her to socialise but i fear that if i allow her to stay in that room alone all day she'll just get worse. she's only two years old, and she's a half-manx tuxedo cat. we also own her mother, who's a full tabby manx, and we used to have her grandmom but she passed away late june.
i'm kinda stuck on what to do. also, im pretty confident this isnt medical advice, but if it somehow classifies i'm sorry lol

Sounds a little tough. Your family clearly has experience with cats, so i'm guessing you're all great with them. (Unless any others have shown similar behavior?)
I'd just recommend trying to spend more time with them during the day, maybe chill in the room your cat likes so she gets more used to your company? Bribery with treats prob will work too ahaha. And just don't be afraid of your cat and their behavior, it may be frustrating that they're not being affectionate, but maybe it just means she need you to be more? try fit in more grooming and tickles! good luck with your precious kitty!

☁ hey! I've recently returned to CS with six new cats (ooo) and I was wondering what the probability of one of our cats being pregnant during the winter is? her name is Lucy and she's sort of got a belly but we can't really tell if she's just plump or if she's really pregnant.

Cats can get pregnant all year long, despite the typical feline mating season running roughly from about spring-fall.
She might be a chubby girl tho! Bless her!

Hey, I have a question for y'all. My cat is a long hair mutt and I live in an extremely snowy state. She came inside after our first heavy snow fall looking like a snowball. What can I do to help keep the snow off her?

Only thing i'd suggest is to shovel out snow from places you know your cat likes e.g your garden.
Or try keep them in a little longer while its falling? Good luck with your snowy angel! :^)

Any suggestions for a name? I found her with a broken leg a few days ago but she's making a great recovery(:

Honestly the first name i thought of was doughnut but i doubt thts a good suggestion. Maybe name her after things that are orange like her lovley fur? Like tangerine. Oh i like the name gingersnap too :^D

hey just popping in to introduce my new kitty who i just got today ! her name is athena, she's 5 months old, and she's so so so affectionate. she snuggles with me and has been purring ever since we got home, and never leaves my side except when she wants food (me when im clingy tbh) and she lets me pet her lil toebeans. she's a mega soft domestic shorthair, and the cutest kitty ever. i love her with all my heart and i know she's been given a good home.
edit: okay so when i go to pet her she loves it and is super affectionate but when i pull away to go do something she gets mad and paws at my face, sometimes clawing. is this normal? is there a way to stop this behavior?

She is sooo adorable!
Don't worry, just kitten behavior, she just loves some love, that or she wants to play too. She'll grow out of it!
Keep play and all that out of those kind of situations maybe, so she learns not to be feisty when it's a cute calm moment

Tambora is not really into toys. He doesn't like the dangly toy I got him, the jingly balls he just walks away from, little stuffed sock balls he ignores, and his cat tree my best friend got me for my birthday he doesn't seem to care about. He's super cuddly and loves hanging out with me, but I'm still worried that he gets bored.

Any suggestions for toys for a non-toy interested cat? I'm trying to stay away from laser pointers (since the dog will chase after it too) and anything with catnip (I don't want him to get amped up and attack the dog.) Separating won't work out since I live in a studio, only a bathroom and my everything room.

ETA: Apparently he found his new favorite thing. An exam fell out of my bag and he likes sitting on it and playing with it. I don't understand and I need to turn it in. Sorry buddy.

Some non conventional toys my cats like are balled up pieces of paper, hair elastics and elastic bands, pistachios or anything small like a bottle cap. I play "hockey" with them where I slide something along the floor and the chase after it, retrieve it and throw it the other way (works better with two people so you can slide it back and forth).

Idk if this is clast as dangly but my cat goes crazy following this sort of snake looking thing i use? I trail it allong the floor and she'll run after it. Looks like this. She's not interested in balls either. But exam paper is new for me! Explore that and give them lots of paper to play with maybe ahah

It snowed today (in south Louisiana)! My cats have never seen snow so I decided to let them check it out. They're both terrified of it but Dawn even more so lol. She sprinted to my room and hid under my bed for a few minutes.

Well, I wasn't expecting her to pop tonight, but of course it wasn't my choice haha. Prue had her kittens! Four so far but by the looks of her stomach I'd say shes got at least two more left to go. She had the first two at around 11:30pm, then had the other two at around 2:45am. Which is kind of awesome, because two have a December 10th birthday, and two have a December 11th birthday, which is something I've never had happen in all my years of birthing kittens. They're all girls so far, all seem to be eating well which is good. The first born is solid black with a white spot under her neck, her name is Juniper. The second is a calico named Mina, who appears to have Swimmers Syndrome in her hind legs. I've personally never had an animal with this condition, and I know very little about it so any information would be very helpful! The third kitten is a dilute calico, she's mainly grey with a few white and orange blotches, her name's Annabelle. The fourth is also a dilute calico, although she is mainly white with a few grey and orange spots, and her name is Noelle. Pictures will come in the morning, hopefully by then she'll of delivered the rest and everyone will be up and around, right now they're all either nursing or sleeping ^^;

aw! i'm glad everything seems to be going well! i thought about possibly breeding cats when i get older, but after doing a ton of research, it seems way too difficult, and i'm also very squeamish so i wouldn't be able to help the mama cat if something went wrong while she gave birth ;n; i'll just stick to adopting kittens from shelters i guess <3

I haven't tried those yet! I'll see if I can make some out of some fur fabric scraps from my cosplays. He's a very odd not-cat cat. I even left out the box from his cat tree to see if he'll hop in and he doesn't seem to care.

Fur fun I looked up the temperament of a siamese, he's the anti-siamese except for the affection. I don't think he's pure siamese since he has white feet but I don't think he's a snowshoe mix since he has zero snowshoe traits. Tambora is a mystery.
