I personally don't have a dog but I dogsit for my neighbours and I looked after the sweetest german shepherd husky mix for a week and a half named Leo. He's a rescue and though I'd seen him and walked him before they left to get to know him he was very scared when they left. I took my time with him and by the third day he was greeting me at the door! I used to be scared of dogs so it was a nice feeling earning his trust.

Posted on the cat chat for the first time a few days ago so thought I would float over here.
I don't own any dogs, but I do work at a Dog Daycare and Boarding. I got the job in October and I love working there so much! The people are nice, its a friendly work environment and I love all the dogs. But I'm going to talk about a few of my favorites.
There's a German Shepard named Sarge who comes in almost every weekend and he and I have become good friends. He always gets excited to see me and jumps up to give me "hugs".
Finley, I haven't seen her in a while but she was just a puppy last time I saw her. Small enough to squeeze through the small dog gate and run over to me so I could pick her up. She's super adorable, an American Eskimo. Perhaps I'll see her again but if not that's okay. Just means her parents love her enough and can handle her being home all the time Cx
Elliot, he's a basset hound. Very loud dog and loves to get other dogs to chance him in daycare. But the moment I sit down he HAS to be on my lap. He doesn't care if he's to big, he'll make it work. Him and Tripp, a one-eyed golden retriever who's Elliot's best friend. They often lay down with each other and play gently. And if one of them acts up and gets put in time out, the other goes in willingly to be with them. I love them both <3
There's also Snicklefritz who's a BMD, a big boy who recently lost a little weight. He's so gentle, a lot of times he goes into small dog area and just lays down while the small dogs play on him and with him.
Nani, some kind of beagle mix. And yes, I know her name means "what" Cx She's a sweet girl. I also like Porterhouse, a really loud Beagle who loves to just constantly yell for attention. I don't see them that much.
And Flash, he's an overweight Dachshund that the parents won't stop feeding. The daycare people have been working with him to get his weight down, as its probably not doing him any good given how small he is. But he still seems like a happy dog and loves to lay on people and get snuggles.
And then there is Gus, I'm not sure what Gus is... but he's a retired service dog. His dad sometimes brings him in to get some socialization with other dogs, though Gus just sits on a toy set and doesn't do much else. He loves being around people though.
That's just a few of the dogs I've helped to take care of and work with ^^
XXXXXWe are all just stories in the end,
XXXXXXXSo make it a good oneX

So update on my next dog. Haven’t heard anything from the rescue with the Aussie, my references haven’t either. So I doubt that she will be my next dog.
Today my original breeder messaged me about a breeder she knows that has a litter on the ground with a available female pup. So I’m currently in contact with her about her available pup, who she said sounds like she would be a good fit for me! Parents are titled and compete in agility, OB, Rally, Dock, Disc and herding! The available pup has nice drive and focus as well! I’m waiting on more info, but it’s possible this could be my next dog! Don’t want to get my hopes up, but we shall see how everything works out!

Picture of Kestrel holding a branch I handed her for cuteness lol

@.Middy., Eeeee, I hope you get that puppy!! I need more puppy pictures
Now that JJ is back to her normal self I can exercise and train her with Pete again woop. I can tell her "go get Pete" and she'll search the whole house until she finds him and she'll come back with him. It's adorable, I never have to look for Pete.

When he bites you, go "ouch!", get up and turn away from him for a few minutes. This will teach him that when he bites you, the fun and games are over. It's important that *everyone* in your household does this, not just you. Never hit or otherwise physically punish your puppy for biting, either; he'll only learn not to bite the individual(s) who punished him, so he'll continue to bite guests and so on. Dogs aren't great at generalization.

Hi everyone!! This is my puppy who I will be picking up tomorrow. His name is Timber and he's a siberian husky. As you can tell he's bi-eyed, which I actually didn't know when I picked him out. His eyes were still too dark to tell the difference between at that point, but as he grew, one remained dark while the other turned light blue. I think it's a cool detail about him <:
The universe is beautiful.
I probably love you.

I know hes a puppy, but ive had a way bigger puppy in the past that didnt bite THAT hard.
When your puppy bites stop playing with him. Also make sure he has a variety of things that he's allowed to chew on (toys, chews, etc) as biting is a natural instinct and something dogs need to be able to engage in especially when they are teething and in pain.
And as oodles of doodles rightly pointed out consistency is key, everyone must follow the same program so not to confuse the puppy.
Here are some training videos to help you out...
