His fins look amazing now! I'm sure he loves you Toboe!
So my female guppies went to a friends tank and the babies now have the tank all to themselves. Well the corys are still in there along with a snail but you know what I mean C: I have around 10 or 11 guppy fry. In around a month and a half I'll probably sell them or give them to one of our local fish store once they're big enough.

Two more days until I get myself a nice Blue Acara. <3 I'm SO EXCITED omg. I shall name him Sir. Spanksalot or something equally silly and horrible.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

A know a bit. =) I own dwarfs and I'm getting a Blue Acara Thursday. I know mostly about the South American guys, though.

The only South American I have is a Jack Demsly, but the others are South African.
How many gallons is your tank? : 16 gal
How many fish and what types are they? : 4, Cichlids.
How long has it been running? : It had previously ran with mollies, but has been restarted and running for 2 months.
Did you cycle it? : Not sure... Yes perhaps? Its filtered and water gets changed and vacuumed.
If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? : N/A
What is the issue or question? : One of my cichlids, the Venustus Cichlid, has gotten a small bit of black speckles on its sides, tail, and dorsal fin. Is something to worry about or is it just the way they grow?

How often are you doing water changes? How long in total has the tank been set-up and running?
A 16 gal is way to small for 99.9% of cichlids. The Venustus alone needs a 125 gallon tank.

are they getting larger? do they look like a colouring on the fish or do they look raised?
it could be: black ich, spirulina spots (caused from feeding too much spirulina), Ammonia burns, scarring from digging or just bad breeding that causes the spots, does the fish seem any diffrent after you noticed the spots?

The black looks like part of the fish, not bumps. And we've been to a professional fish breeder/store (Called Aquatic & Exotic) and they said no more than the four we have. The fish are acting no different and we recently have had the water tested. Should we get it tested again and clean it again? I'll try to get photos posted soon.
