I just portioned out a bit of food. Not a lot, but I had to portion it out into meals for my sister to feed when we are gone this weekend. I do have to go get some more food, turns out we were running a bit low on Sojos and cat food. Going to try The Honest Kitchen's premix "Kindly" tonight, and see if we want to buy some more tomorrow. It is on BOGO right now. Mom is more into it than I am. I didn't like THK when I was feeding it before, but maybe this formula will be better, and I get to pick my own protein.

Hey guys, I need your opinion on my dogs' current food, Vitality High Energy. To me it doesn't look very good, but my dad really likes it. We tried raw but it costs too much for us right now and my dad is not a fan of all the preparation that goes into it.
Here's Vitality High Energy:
Ingredients:
Australian whole grain cereals (including wheat, corn, rice and/or barley), Australian lamb and beef, premium animal fats, Omega Magic ™ oil blend, salt, complete vitamins and minerals (vitamins A, D3, E, B2, B3, B5, K3, Folic Acid, Copper, Zinc (as oxide), Zinc Chelate, Selenium Iodine), Antioxidants.
Nutrient Profile
Crude Protein min 27%
Crude Fat min 16%
Fibre max 3.5%
Moisture approx. 8%
I will "Leave Out All The Rest" and "Runaway" to be "By Myself." I will find "Somewhere I Belong" and be "One Step Closer" to finding a "Cure For The Itch." However, I'm not "Forgotten" because I'm "With You", "Crawling" under your skin like a "Papercut." "In The End" I will find "A Place For My Head" and the "Shadow of The Day" will wipe away "What I've Done." There will be "No More Sorrow" in this "New Divide."
99% of people are saying that they'll be the ones hurting singers while everyone else will be crying. Put this in your signature if you're the 1% shutting up and listening to real music.
ROCK&RAP FTW!

The fact that grains are the first ingredient is pretty gross, not sure what all's available in Australia but look for grain free things as they tend to be pretty good c:

Yeah, it
is pretty gross. That's what I told my dad, but he just keeps saying that our dogs are fine with it. How do I go about convincing him to try other options? I already told him that it saves more money in the long run, makes their poop easier to clean up, and the dog's general health will be so much better, but his mind is set. We actually found a great natural dog food shop called Bow and Wow, which has great natural stuff and grain free options, too, but he didn't even try to look at the different foods available. )o:
I'm not in Australia by the way, I'm from the Philippines

A lot of people seem to do fine on living off of junk & fast food, that doesn't make it healthy. Some animals do well on a poor diet, others do not. The trouble is that often by the time the negative side effects show themselves the damage can't be reversed and the medical bills will be enormous. I would ask your dad if he would be comfortable only giving you junk & fast food because it's cheaper or because you seem to do "fine" on it. If not, why not? Those are the same reasons to feed your dog better food as well.

Just gonna talk about Meow the cat for a sec. When we adopted him, he was on Purina Pro-plan and had pretty gross fur that was shedding in clumps and was morbidly obese. The feed store recommended giving Natural Balance weight loss for a while till he gets normal-sized and even with a fairly mediocre food he still looks 10x better than he did ^u^

I'm super happy. Creed's been getting a fish chunk (normally a head) with his meals for the past couple weeks and his skin and coat are looking much shinier. With luck we'll outlast the rest of this dry winter and spring/summer will get us some relief. The hard dry winters here are hard on him, it seems.

Blarg, plucked an intact duck today. Way worse than plucking a rooster. The roosters had long feathers with little 'down' underneath.. Almost like comparing a single coated dog to a double coated dog. The roosters were easy to grab handfuls and the feathers would pluck straight to the skin in clean lines. The duck was like.. short and dense. Nearly impossible to get a good hand on and did not pluck clean, left behind feather shafts and fluff everywhere.
Gonna buy me a pair of shears and divide the roosters and duck up. Will be their first time having duck!
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe
