.-.

Why is everything here about hunting wolves, and that ONE species of wolf?
Why does everyone have to fight so much?

No one discusses that many red wolves are made up from a high % of coyote DNA, making them hybrids and not true reds.
No one discusses the steep decline of the Ethiopian wolf due to disease and deforestation.
No one discusses wolves major roles in mythology.
Or their influences in literature, metaphors, or music.
No one talks about the vast diversity between C.lupus and domestic dogs.
No one talks about dingos THAT ARE A SUBSPECIES of wolf.
No one talks about the legality of wolf dogs.

Always about hunting. And hunting one, non endangered, overpopulated (in three or four countries) species of wolf. Why not the illegal poaching of endangered wolves and the effects that has on the population of their prey overall ecosystem?
Such has the illegal poaching of Iberian wolves in Portugal and Spain? They help control wild boar populations, and are protected (putting aside they are threatened) because they keep the large wild pig population in check. But poaching them creates more dangerous wild boars.

Honestly, why does everyone have to fight so much? Can't we all just get along? It's like one shot after another, pow pow. Yes, there are high opinions of wolf hunting here, but it seems every time the thread has active posts it's only because people are "debating" wolf hunting. No. It's not debating anymore. It's just button pushing. And it makes me and plenty of other people sad that people are fighting and making people upset on purpose.

And no, this is not a "rude" post. It's simply a "can't we discuss something else for once and be friends with each other?" post.

And no, I'm not saying "never ever talk about hunting again!" I'm saying "Let's switch things up for a bit, get a fresh idea rollin' in here for a while and share ideas on other subjects because it might be more enjoyable" post.

PAW also discusses any aspect about wolves. Not just hunting. Any wolf discussion is allowed.
EDIT:
Yes. I agree. If only there wasn't so much fighting. =(

No one talks about dingos THAT ARE A SUBSPECIES of wolf.

Dingoes are not very closely related to wolves*; they sometimes interbreed with domesticated dogs, but their genetics are mostly pure dingo thanks to isolation.
No one talks about the legality of wolf dogs.

*They are still descended from them, however, yes.

Yeah, but from the looks of it those conversations didn't last very long.

Blue, I'm not saying they were never ever ever discussed in the history of PAW, but it's always a one track subject anymore here. Wolf hunting > fight > let's all stop > random chat > ????? > starts all over again.

I'm just saying why not switch it up, get opinions on something other than hunting. There's new members, maybe they'll have a different say in those topics? New ideas? New info?

And pretty much what Cassowary said. Those topics didn't last long, and it looks like you, Blue, were the major contributor of all those topics. =(

And dingoes, all I know is they're considered a subspecies, but don't know how genetically apart they are from greys/wolves in general or if they're now a family all their own. I've not really looked into dingoes (which is kinda why I put it there, maybe I can learn more about dingoes).
Thank you for the links, also. c:

I consider dingoes a different breed. They are no longer considered a wolf and that is rightly so, they have lived apart for so long.

At one time there were 10 red wolves left. now there are a little over 200 yet unfortunatly they are mostly hybrids.

Indeed. 's quite sad.

I mean, I thought about trying to make a thread for actual wolf-related discussion (as opposed to nattering) but then realized the only people capable of really contributing wouldn't be interested at all.

Sigh. And attempts to educate others in here just end up in wars. Pretty much we're only here to try and correct people's misconceptions.

Yes, it's too bad that most Red wolves aren't purebred or true Red wolves. Most Red wolves are the result of Coyotes mating with Greys, though not all. I'm sure we've got a few true Reds.
"Why do you look so sad?" "I'm thinking about the economy"
