Kennel cough is like a human cold, really. So food probably doesn't have anything to do with it, unless there were dogs where the food production took place.

Caesar and Purina foods? Hmm.

Kennel cough doesn't come from dog food. It comes from interactions with other dogs. Most likely your dog got it from a neighborhood dog.

I don't know if this would be the appropriate place, but what are considered "good" dog treats? We feed our Scout Pupperoni and Charlee Bear treats (though the Charlee Bear take a little persuasion and a few times of spitting out before she'll accept them. Brat.) Are there better treats to purchase that are still low cost that dogs like or are those pretty okay?

Also, last question, I'm looking into getting a new puppy this summer for myself (a yorkie) and I want to feed it better food. We feed our current dog IAMS Proactive Health. My question is, should I feed her the same thing, or should I get her a different brand and just have to keep it out of reach of our GSD? Our current dog, Scout, has plenty of natural food, including compost and meat scraps, so Scout gets a healthy enough diet even with the IAMS food.. Should I bother having to separate brands, or should I not worry about it since our current dog is perfectly healthy? (I hope that's not confusing...)

I don't know how he got it then because he is petrified of other dogs and wouldn't go near one even if his life depended on it...

We feed our dogs Natural Choice Large breed food, honestly they are quite healthy on it <3 So I guess its an okay food? To keep the cost down we mix it with the Kirkland dog food, which has all the same ingredients, but a bit more protien, its a heck of a lot cheaper than natural choice. But our vet said to feed low protien to our Danes because it is better for them.
Throw those hooves right over my shoulders
Cause I seen the way you look at me, doefriend, when you smoulder
Come here, queer deer, and shake that thing around
Cause you get me so high that I gotta go down

There's a kennel cough vaccination. My dogs have it since I work at a animal shelter.

I'm allergic to Pupperoni. It makes my skin red and itchy, my dogs are "eh" about it. With that said, it probably isn't good for your dogs, huh?

If you want a grocery brand food, second in line is Iams, but first, if you can't get a "natural" food like we're talking about, please look into Eukanuba, particularly their "Naturals" or something like that. It has these really detailed pictures... you'll know it when you see it. It has... three flavours? Yeah. That's your best bet. (: Eukanuba also has specific breed formulas, for Yorkies and GS's.

I would recommmened both dogs get onto it, but just make sure you do a gradual food switch. More on that found on Google. (: The food, I believe, only comes in normal, medium kibbles, so if you'd like crush it a bit for your Yorkie, that'd be fine.

Charlee Bears are nice, Blue Buffalo has some treats, I personally like to cut up things like hot dogs (although mind to reduce dog food as well if you give them as treats since they're quite fatty) dehydrated liver, cheese, sometimes I like to make a big mix of his regular dog food, hot dog, and cheese.

I would recommend something other than Iams most definitely, I wouldn't feed food that has corn meal in the first few ingredients. (or any to be honest)

I would still feed Taste of The Wild. Not Ekanuba, it's not worth the price. In other words quality does not match the price at all. Blue Buffalo Wilderness is another.

Do you have any local pet stores that don't sell things like Ol' Roy, Pedigree, Purina, Iams, Beneful and such and only sell lesser known brands? Usually those stores have some good options.
