I wish all dog owners would think of that, but they refuse to believe that their dog is related to the wolf, who most people dislike and believe are vicious and bloodthirsty with no feeling or mercy for anything or anyone, which is completely untrue.
I met this dog breeder in Scotland, who was a friend of my mother's, and of course, I started to talk about wolves and that they are most likely going to be released in a extremely large enclosure in Alledale, along with most likely elk and lynx, who were there before humans wiped them out from Scotland and the rest of Britain. She was very incorrect about what she said about wolves, and obviously had no respect or knowledge of them, she claimed that they'd kill people, and that they are dangerous to all people who often hike up the mountains, and by no means should be released.
Wolves are dangerous, but most choose not to get involved with people. And what's more, wolves will not be released into the wilds until they are fully established and permission to release them is accepted.
I wish people weren't so ignorant, especially about animals.

This is very true. I love wolves, I think that like all creatures they serve their own purpose and are amazing creatures. But, they are not gods.

That's right, no creature is a god, but everyone should respect all animals, no matter what size or intelligence.
I was at a zoo to see some wolves (naturally), and I thought I might as well pay a visit to the other animals. So, I went over to a large enclosure with rhinoceros's and zebras, and watched a baby rhinoceros play with an adult zebra, which was nice.
And then I heard someone say to their child "Oh look, the hippo is playing with the zebra".
Now, if parents are teaching their children those sorts of things, about African animals, probably the most well-known animals in the world, what are they teaching their children about wolves?
When it was feeding time at the wolf enclosure, I rushed over to see that, and a rather chubby woman said "Aren't they gonna' wear protective clothing"? When the keepers entered, all the wolves shot down a hole and came out when they were sure that the keepers had gone.
What is this world coming to?

I know, wolves are not killers. they will kill if provoked, rabid, or hungry. But they do not kill just for the sake of killing. Normally if given the option they will hide. I understand spreading some love for the Mexican gray wolf considering it is extinct in the wild. But there is also Dromedary camels, and such that are extinct in the wild too.

People do realize that, but if there were no wolves then there would be no dogs, and we wouldn't even know what we were missing out on in the first place...

Actually, many people do not realise it.
I was at yet another zoo, and there was a question about dogs, and it was "What animal did dogs come from?".
I was the only one who knew the answer, out of about 50 adults and children.
