Aww. Actually, I was allergic to my cat at first but got used to it after a few days.

    i don't support owning wild animals for pets at all, so i highly disagree.

    i'm allergic to cats as well, but shorthairs affect me the most. if both types of cats (longhairs and shorthairs) affect you, then i suggest getting a hypo-allergenic, such as a siberian.

Yes, mochi.
I might get a Siberian in the future, since I won't stop moaning to my parents about getting a cat.

If you're allergic, but you still want a cat, consider getting a hairless one. Sphinx, Donskoy, Elf, Ukranian Levkoy, Bambino, Peterbald - there's six just off the top of my head! It's usually pretty easy to find pets that work for you; it just takes time and patience. My kitty couldn't have been a better fit for my family, and she was the one that came to our door and adopted us! Cats come in a very wide variety of breeds, temperaments, coat lengths [a shorthair might work, too!], and other attributes. If you want a wildcat, then you should look further into rules and regulations where you live, and do some research. A small wildcat would be the best, most likely, so don't get a tiger or a serval. Also, keep in mind that wildcats are nothing like domestic cats. They won't sit on your lap and cuddle, and taking care of them is really hard. Kind of straying off-topic, but one of the easiest [in my opinion] wild animals to take care of is the Fennec Fox, because it's cat-sized and acts like a small dog.

If you're allergic to cats the ideal cat to have is a sphnyx cat tbh. If they're washed regularly there's minimal chance of allergies - my friend has one ^^
I've heard that there's medication you can take to subdue allergies if you really want a cat with fur though.
edit: looks like a load of people already posted similar things already ;-;

Mm, thanks.
The Geoffrey cat is the size OF a domestic, so size is okay.

Siberian's are not hypoallergenic. Some people with allergies/asthma find it easier to cope with the Siberian forest cats, but they're not hypoallergic.

I think my allergy is going, because my friend has two cats, a tabby and a longhair. They are both so cute and I don't sneeze around them...

Diet also plays a huge role as well with allergies. My roommate and mother in law are both allergic to cats. Neither of them react to my cats, although my roommate did react to Koda when I first adopted her and she was being transitioned to Orijen. Once she'd been eating it for about 3 weeks, Sara no longer had a reaction to her and Koda is a long haired cat!

Devon Rex and Cornish Rex are also hypo allergenic. Some cats that shed do not cause as much allergies like a color point shorthair.
