If you want a memorial hedgehog house custom made of him, please PM me and I'll do it for you. ^^
My friend's hedgie hasn't been doing well. They were thinking WHS, but it progressed far too rapidly for a solid diagnosis. A few appointments later with different vets and he has a tumor on his spine.

Hedgehogs are naturally solitary, but you can socialize them so that they can be handled easily. Its a lot of work, but so rewarding and it makes life much easier.
They need a heat set up to maintain a cage temp in the 70s or else they can try to hibernate. They cant hibernate and attempts are deadly if they aren't warmed up. Cage should be at least 4 square feet with a 10.5-12 inch solid surface wheel. They eat cat food c:
To socialize a hedgehog and maintain a social hedgehog, they really need to be handled every day. Good breeders start handling babies as soon as it is safe to do so (about 14 days old). Without socializing, they can have very defensive behaviors, but they are rarely aggreasive.
