Info This is the list of all the events running in this year's show! Since this is the first time this is running, the categories are basic ones you'd see in a real life show. If it runs again next year, the categories will be tweaked. Please keep checking back as I may add some more events as the show goes on.
● I understand some breeds are based in a fantasy world and humans don't have a part in their lives.
If you own horses that fall under this category, you are free to draw your horse competing the event without a rider.
● It is highly encouraged to draw your horse and rider wearing appropriate gear, each event has information about the correct gear. Each event takes place in a certain place, and images of what the area looks like is detailed in each section.
● Entries must have a background to be accepted. (writing excluded) Photo backgrounds are accepted, please use stock backgrounds that allow you to use them. If you use a photo background, you must credit the photographer.
● Certain events require a rider, and will be marked out as so.
● Certain events are for specific breeds, please check!

F O RxH E A V YxH O R S E S about This category is for your Clydesdales, drafts, medieval horses and more! This event is specifically for strong horses.
requirements your entry needs to have your horse pulling a log. Riders are not required to stand behind the horse. You can have a team of two horses or just a single one.
location The field. This is a wide open area that has seats either side of a track that is approx. 100 metres.

about show jumping is where horse and rider completes a course consisting of several different jumps. The horse who completes the course in the quickest amount of time and least amount of penalties (A penalty is awarded if a horse knocks a pole off the jump, or finishes the course over the time limit) wins. Show jumping tests
requirements your horse and rider must wear the correct gear for show jumping. (example here) If you are competing without a rider, please make sure your horse wears correct protection against the jumps! (Example here)
Entries must be drawn with at least one jump. (Examples of jumps: 01. 02. 03. 04. 05.)

about cross country (or XC) tests the horse's stamina and ability to jump. A outdoor course consisting of natural obstacles challenges both horse and rider. As with show jumping, the quickest horse with least penalties is awarded first place.
requirements Horse and rider must wear appropriate gear. If you horse is competing without a rider, they must wear boots to protect their feet. The course has several natural wooden jumps and 1 water obstacle. You are free to make up jumps!

location cross country takes place on the fields surrounding the arena. example of a basic course. There are many trees and bushes scattered around the course.

R E Q U I R E SxR I D E R about dressage is considered the highest expression of horse training as it requires both horse and rider to memorize a routine to music. There are certain movements the horse is required to perform and to do well the horse needs to be well behaved.
requirements your horse and rider need to be dressed correctly ( Dressage attire example). The horse will be required to walk, trot and canter around the arena to music.
location This event takes place in the arena.

F O R xH O R S E S xO FxA L L xA G E S about Showing is an event that doesn't require the horse to be ridden. The horse is 'shown' around the arena, lead by their rider. The horse is required to walk, trot and sometimes canter and jump. The horse and rider must stand still i The aim is to show off your horse and how well behaved it is.
requirements any horse can compete in this event! Foals included. You do not have to draw your rider with the horse, but your entry must include at least a headshot of your horse with a background.

about Choose an event that your horse would like to compete in and writing about it! Describe the atmosphere, detail how you, the rider, felt. If you're competing without a rider, describe the horse's senses. This category will be judged on creativity and how well it has been written.
requirements Writings should be 300 words min - 1000 words max. In your entry, you describe your horses performance in a certain event.
Notes Depending on the total number of entries, the writing entries will be judged seperately or in their respective classes. I'm not sure if this is a good idea currently but we'll see eyy
