And I hate to bring it up, but I thought the least you could get for a single was 5? That's what the front page said..
I realize you might have to give less is if people try to cheat. But I got four and I was not attempting to cheat.
I just don't really know how to shade and I realize my back rounds aren't beautiful.
But that dose not mean I put in no effort. So i'm not complaining about the amount of gems I received as much as i'm concerned that you might have thought I was attempting to cheat?

I'm sorry, I know your busy. I really do hate to post right now. Thats for organizing this. ^^

{ Woo gonna try and explain this in one go for the benefit of all xD
Okay so, obviously the scale/prizes on the front was not used for judging.
Why is this you ask? It's simple.
because the quality of pieces varied so much
There were some pieces that clearly had had hours upon hours of work put into them, while there were others that clearly did not.
Even among sketches there were some that stood out, and I KNOW they're just sketches, but when someone hoes above and beyond what they need to do...that deserves a reward does it not?

Basically instead of having everyone get 20coins per sketch (or whatever it was) we decided that was unfair to those who put in an hour or two into a sketch, or cleaned it up, compared to those who threw together a three second sketch that was unrecognizable. We judged based on a 1-20 coin scale. Best sketches got 20 coins and then we slotted the rest accordingly.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR ART IS BAD/GOOD OR THAT WE HATE YOUR STYLE
If you didn't get 20 coins we're not saying we hate your art. We're saying that there were other people who clearly put a lot of time and effort into the sketches and COMPARATIVELY they deserved more.
It sucks but that's what happens in big competitions.

Same thing went for the singles and group art categories.
Single's had a 10gem limit and then we scaled them according. Group shots with one kia from each staff member had a limit of 20gems, with an auto 35gems for including all the staff kias.

So don't despair if you didn't get the full amount, we simply had a lot of talent put into this contest and sadly that means that some people don't do as well as they might do otherwise.

And as the person who collected all of the art and organized it for the front....I DO know what all the pieces look like, doubly so from judging, and I just want to say that you're all brilliant and I thank you for putting in so much effort. C:
