Auto does not mean:
- x That when someone offers your auto they have to offer a bit more.
x That it's the LEAST you could ask for the pet you're auctioning.
x That anyone who doesn't offer the auto is giving you a bad offer.
x That you should ask for your 'dream'. If it's a dream, it does not belong on the list unless you are offering what said dream is worth.
An auto should be:
- x Realistic. If we are completely honest, you will never get a July for your Valentines '09 PPS, no matter what July you set as your auto.
x A fair exchange + incentive. Some people seem to get this wrong. An auto isn't squeezing out as many valuable pets as possible for your pet, it's supposed to be a fair offer + incentive.
x Clearly stated and left unchanged unless notify is given. I've seen plenty of people strive to get people's 'autos' just to have them changed whenever.
Autos you should think twice about asking for:
- x Any high-end July or UR goes here. If you are auctioning a pet that isn't from '08, it is unlikely that your pet is worth any July at all (I mind you, exceptions such as Wood-Angel are present). This means that if you ask for a Moonswirl or Sunjewel or even UR cat for your beloved Peacock PPS, you are setting the auto too high. Autos should be, as stated previously, fair + incentive.
