Still a WIP~

Welcome to my pet pairing thread! :3 Why did I do this? I don't have the faintest idea, but it sounds like fun, and
after browsing through some other pairing threads I got inspired. So you'll have to put up with me as I give you
an insight of what's going on my pets' lil' pixel hearts. Good luck, I do hope you survive to tell the tale...
and post your opinions! ;D

Artemis&Haylee || human form || short story

ImageImage
Artemis Fowl II(♂) && Haylee(♀)

Part 1 of 2
Turquoise blue sky, feathery wisps of pure white clouds crowning the Eastern horizon line, cold and dry air graced the early winter morning. Butler and Juliet were discussing wrestling moves, at times demonstrating them on each other. Artemis kept an absent eye on them, his mind miles away. Now that they had the gold and his mother was cured, he needed a new goal, something to aim for and in which he could invest all of his capacities. Little did he know that that morning was going to offer him the perfect chance, as well as a change in the whole manor’s inhabitants’ life.

Sure, he was expecting a newcomer – one of Juliet’s friends, hired to work as a maid. Now that his mother was fully sentient, they needed a lot more to keep her requests fulfilled. But he didn’t think of it as much trouble. What did another maid matter to him?
Nothing, he decided, and returned his ice-blue gaze to the Butler siblings’ wrestling debate, watching as Juliet executed a round kick and hit her brother in the stomach. A pale smile formed on his lips, and he turned away, walking into his room.

--
Only a hundred meters away, a white-haired girl hurried along the path that led to the Fowl Manor’s main entrance. Her long locks flicked after her as she trod over the crisp snow, and she looked at the beautiful, old-fashioned estate with half-lidded crimson eyes. She’d be rather nervous, hadn’t she been woken up by her alarm clock’s insistent beeping in her ears only half an hour ago. She was wearing a red woolen shirt and plain black jeans, making her stand out in the snow like a blotch of ink and blood, her pale skin and hair mixing in with the whiteness around. She bit her lip, looking around as she halted in front of the stately door before clicking on the doorbell’s button on an impulse. Before she regretted it all.

--
At the same time as the bell rang, a video message popped up on one of Artemis’s computer screens, live from their doorbell’s in-built camera. The boy turned to it, frowning as he saw a terribly blurred image instead of the visitor’s face. Ah well. It had probably been that night’s blizzard what had ruined the system; he’d fix that later. But right now he wanted to meet their new acquisition in person, just in case Juliet had managed to bring a moron to the manor.

--
Down at the ebony doors, Haylee sighed, tapping her slender fingers against her thigh. She leaned against the soft wooden surface, feeling tired from the rushed walk through the snow and the lack of sleep. Why did she have to show up so early? She definitely wasn’t a morning person, let alone a freezing-cold winter morning person. She closed her eyelids for a moment, allowing her eyes to take a moment’s break of the blinding whiteness all around.

And that’s when she felt the door shift, not supporting her weight anymore. How stupid, to rest against a door, she thought. But it was already too late to catch herself up, so she braced herself to meet the hard floor.

Which didn’t happen.

She felt a pair of arms holding her and a hint of sweet cologne, and risked opening one bright red eye. Artemis Fowl was looking at her, mildly surprised.

“Watch out,” he spoke calmly, and Haylee freed herself from his arms, standing on her own. Her heart was still racing from embarrassment and a faint blush spread over her pale cheeks, but even so she managed a courageously bright smile.
“I’m Haylee, I believe you hired me.”

“Definitely so. Come in. Juliet shall show you the estate.”

Haylee did so, her smile reduced to a shy reflection of what it had been. The manor was indeed imposing. And that was when she decided to dig up all the braveness she had been saving up for weeks. She straightened her back and picked her chin up as she followed Artemis into the maze-like corridors. Juliet was there – she wasn’t alone. She was a good judo fighter and her aim was great – she could defend herself perfectly. And there was Artemis – a mystery to solve. What else could she ask for?

Author's Note: Whew. This was supposed to be shorter - and even so it took me the whole afternoon! D< Where have my writing skills gone? And this ended up to be an Artemis Fowl fanfic, much more than what I first intended. Anyway. Yes, I know, this isn't really romantic - but hey, it's a start! It would be a bit a HUGE lot out of character for Artemis to fall in love at first sight and have a kissing scene, etc. And I may write more on this, depending on how inspired I feel. This was intended to be an one-shot, though. Maybe I'll draw an illustration for this thingy, too.
Artemis Fowl (c) Eoin Colfer

Part 2 of 2
It had been only two weeks since Haylee had arrived at the Fowl manor, but it felt already as though she had joined efforts with the other two females on the house to take over the world.

Artemis sunk his head on the palm of his hand as the first notes of ‘Deck The Halls’ echoed through the corridors and into his room, for the thousandth-something time that day. Haylee might have seemed shy at first, but once the girl got used to the surroundings she became a completely different person. She seemed to be everywhere at the same time, with her energy and dazzling smile. Sure thing, she did her work well – and she did have a great aim, as Artemis had the chance to testify during her training with Butler and Juliet, and also during a few snow fights. She could shish-kebab the manikins from the other side of the practice field with surprising ease, and Artemis believed the Butler girl was the one to blame.

Worst of all, everyone else loved her. Juliet, of course, was her best friend – only they could spend hours happily chatting about martial arts. Butler began to see her as another younger sister, and had taken on the task of teaching her more advanced self-defense techniques. Artemis’ mother thought the manor, as lifeless and monotonous as it was, had been improved in much with Haylee’s cheerful presence and services. Truth to be told, she was becoming one of them very quickly.

But she wasn’t always loud and annoying. Whenever she had some spare time, she sat down and drew things and scenery from the estate and the nearby landscape, in complete silence and preferably alone. Or, at times, she’d come into Artemis’s computer room and watch him work quietly, both still as statues but for Artemis’s swift-moving fingers across the keyboard. Why didn’t he send her away was still a mystery, but he found her presence oddly relaxing, allowing him to focus with an increased ease.
Except when she played ‘Deck the Halls’ at such a deafening volume.

--
Downstairs, Haylee knelt on the ballroom’s cold marble floor, unpacking a box of glittering red baubles. She passed them one by one to Mrs. Fowl with a smile, inspecting her own distorted reflection on their surface. A dozen moon-faced Haylees returned the grin, their pale faces red on the delicate surface. Then, she remembered her place and kept on unpacking Christmas decorations, handing a great length of silver tinsel to her mistress. The tall fir tree was already becoming somewhat more festive, and yet there was still so much to do…

Suddenly, the music stopped. Haylee turned her head to the CD player, thinking it might have been a power failure, but she spotted Artemis, already making his way back to his room through the piles of cardboard boxes containing the decorations.
“Why did you do that?” she called, getting up and skipping over the mess on the floor. She clicked the ‘play’ button again, and Artemis turned to her, surprised. He wasn’t used to being contradicted.

“I can’t focus with this noise.”

“Oh, you need a little Christmas, dear,” Mrs. Fowl looked at her son sharply.

“Yes! Please, Arty?” Haylee widened her crimson eyes at her boss. Artemis frowned, wondering why wasn’t he as annoyed as he should be as the girl used his nickname. With a melodramatic sigh, he nodded, giving in. You couldn’t just say no to that smile.
“Fine. But turn down the volume.”

Haylee hugged him so tightly she could have broken some of his ribs. “Thank you!” she beamed, hopping to the CD player to set the volume to a lower level, leaving a surprised Artemis behind. Finally, the black-haired boy turned away and headed to his room, a smile spreading on his lips.

--
“Lunch time, everyone!” Juliet called from the kitchen. She had been trying out some of Haylee’s recipes, and the thought of those two home nazis taking control over their food was honestly scaring. Artemis walked downstairs, seeing dark spots in his vision field, caused by the computer’s monitor’s glare. It was worth it, though. With the coming of Christmas, his online business had doubled, and he had to keep an eye on the money. He had been involved in crime for too long to ignore how easily one could deviate online money.

Near the now fully decorated Christmas tree, Butler carried a bunch of presents under Mother’s directions, and Artemis had a very sudden vision of him with a red suit and a fluffy white beard. He shut his eyes tight. So much Christmas was definitely ruining his brain cells.

--
Sitting on the sofa’s armrest, Haylee smiled sadly at her new family as they shared their gifts. She’d gotten some too (a book on history of arts from Artemis, a set of sharpened throwing daggers and a brand new judo outfit from the Butlers, and a very cute bunny-eared hoodie from Mrs. Fowl), and she had given everyone a set of portraits and landscapes, since it was the only thing her money and time could cover. But that night, there was a special bond that kept them together in many different ways, a bond of family she didn’t share yet, as much as they liked her. She figured it would take many years to build such confidence, and hence the sadness in her ruby-coloured eyes. She felt happy for them, alright. She was glad they were enjoying all the work she had done in preparing the manor for the holidays.

On the other sofa, Artemis was also sitting alone, staring at the portraits she had done of him, as if inspecting them carefully. She felt her cheeks redden. She was still far from professional quality. What would he think of her skills?

Artemis felt her eyes on him and raised his head, locking eyes with her and sensing her worry. He shuffled the heavy sheets of paper together into a neat stack. “Your drawings are very expressive.”

Haylee looked away, a hint of sadness tainting her smile. “I’m just a beginner.”

It was true. She was just a beginner at all of this, she thought as she stared at the carpet. She felt Artemis’s weight as he sat by her side, and looked up, a question in her eyes. Artemis simply pointed up, and she followed his direction, finding a decorative tinsel garland hanging above their heads. At its center hung a delicate branch of mistletoe.

“Oh.”

She was silenced by his lips, and it didn’t matter that the others were there. The lights on the tree seemed to shine stronger than ever at Haylee’s eyes. This was the most wonderful Christmas gift she could have asked for.

Author's Note: I feel a total hypocrite now. Like, I always hate character/OC pairings, but couldn't resist writing my own ;-; SORRY D: Donthatemeplz. Now, I must say it was fun to write. Too much inspiration booms caused by hours of We Need a Little Christmas and Deck The Rooftop (Glee cast version)? Maybe. Worth it? Definitely. x3 Now, my next victim shall be SunriseXYuuki >D

sunrise&Yuuki || human form || short story

ImageImage
Sunrise(♂) && Yuuki(♀)

Part 1 of ?
When they tell you high school is wild, do believe it. It’ll save you from learning it the hard way, like I did. Keep your head down and don’t look the seniors in the eye. They're your alphas and you're the omega, especially if you’re a thin, shy guy like me – and when your name is Sunrise. Seriously. School is worse than the jungle – you gotta fight for survival. It’s okay to cheat, as long as you’re not caught. And, most important of all, the strong kill the weak. Well, maybe not literally – except when the reject kids from those gangs start a nasty fight – but the cool guys and girls are just like vampires: they feed on your ego to boost their own, leaving you crushed. Clique vampires, just like Yuuki, the ‘ice princess’, a nickname originated by her glacial manner.
Oh yeah, and you know that thing about vampires. They’re always incredibly beautiful. Yuuki is like that, with stunning lilac eyes and her hair an unusual shade of blue – it’s not dyed, you see, it’s her natural hair color. And although it might sound really weird, it actually looks amazing. Well, Yuuki would look amazing with anything, but she just ignores me all the time. And so I decided I should teach her a lesson.

--
Yuuki frowned at her book. She couldn’t focus on it, as hard as she tried. She glared at it in vain, feeling exhausted. And she needed to have it finished for that afternoon, since it was the last day their French teacher had given them to read the three-hundred-page volume, and later on she’d have piano class, so she wouldn’t have time for the book. With a frustrated sigh, she stuffed it back into her silvery blue messenger bag – she had a thing for everything blue – and stood up, getting ready to leave, when she noticed Sunrise some feet down the corridor. He had obviously noticed her there, (Yuuki wasn’t exactly the kind of girl who could go by unnoticed, and not only for her ethereal beauty, but she had some kind of head-turning presence that attracted people like moths to a light) but he hadn’t done any attempt to start a conversation, for the first time since they had met each other. Of course, Yuuki dumped him bluntly any time the chat went on for too long, which for her standards was anything over two sentences. Yet it was strange in a way. It was so totally unlike Sunrise.

She walked past him, and in the very last minute halted, looking at him over her shoulder. “So? Aren’t you asking me out today?” she asked, with a sharp sarcastic edge to her voice. Yet it wasn’t enough to justify her stopping to talk to him – so totally unlike her, too. Blast it. Was she becoming just a common mellow-hearted girl? No, it couldn’t be.

He raised his head from the French book, looking at her with those startlingly orange eyes. “No,” he finally answered, sounding disinterested, maybe a little too tired of everything, or somewhere in-between. His voice was heavy, and for a moment Yuuki shared his exhaustion, the same weight over her, pinning her to the ground. That moment melted away right then, though, and she flipped her hair. Sunrise returned his gaze to the book. “I’ve given up,” he stated, sounding slightly regretful. Yuuki stared at him, feeling offended. Never a boy had given up trying to conquer her heart! Was she losing her charm? Sure, Sunrise wasn’t a big problem, but imagine the soccer team’s stars would tell her they had given up? Where would all the expensive gifts go? She clenched her jaw, glaring at him with her sharpest icy death stare.

“Phew, that’s good news then,” she forced a joyful tone, and turned around, storming down the hall in hasty footsteps. Given up on her, honestly.

Behind her back, Sunrise looked up again and chuckled, wildly amused. Girls, he thought, shaking his head and collecting himself to leave, are so predictable. Still, he felt as though he had missed something, and that notion was tugging at him, a reminder of his unusual melancholy. He tried in vain to shake it away. Sorry, conscience. It was fun, just to see that look in her face. He shook his head vigorously, as though to rip the mask he’d been wearing off his face, and also walked down the hall, grinning widely. Man, I have some acting talent! He cheered, in an attempt to smother the feeling of being wrong about the lesson he wanted to teach Yuuki. It was unnatural and out of character, but she deserved it, he told himself. Mission over, goal achieved.

Author's Note: Mmmkay, this was a troublesome one to write. I'm not one hundred per cent positive on whether this works or not. I'm exhausted with school, and it's just the first day. It's almost like the teachers want to kill us with work x__x Plus, today is my mom's birthday, so I wrote this in-between other tasks, and I had homework. So after this row of lame excuses, I really wanted your reviews and suggestions, so next part will be better.

Part 2 of ?
She should have really eaten breakfast.

And besides that, she had been up until late for no real reason, unable to fall asleep, until exhaustion swept her to some kind of unconscious sleep, haunted by shapeless dreams. Yuuki rubbed her temples, not trying any longer to focus on what the teacher was saying. Kail, the guy who sat next to her, kept chattering nonstop, and it was so totally ruining the little that was left from her brain capacity. She felt a total zombie. She figured she’d have deep dark circles around her lilac eyes, and that her ice blue hair should be a total mess. Plus, she felt sickly warm from the lack of sleep, and though she hadn’t even looked to a mirror in her way to school – a landmark for her – she guessed she should be even paler than usual. She heard the teacher say something and jerked her head to look at her, but for a moment her eyesight turned to black and she nearly panicked. It slowly faded away, though, but she raised her hand all the same.

“Teacher?” she asked, keeping her determined tone unwavering only with a good effort. “May I go to the bathroom?”
With the teacher’s consent, she got up too suddenly, and immediately felt dizzy. She blinked twice to erase the spinning feeling in her head and walked to the door apathetically. Her movements lacked the usual gracefulness; she felt as though she had forgotten how to walk, and having to put an effort into that kind of thing was annoying her immensely. She walked past a group of newbie girls, who giggled at her, and she’d have told them some if she hadn’t felt that vertigo again. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes as she entered the bathroom, feeling suddenly glad that there weren’t any mirrors on this one. She opened the tap and splashed her face with the ice-cold water that spluttered out. Better now, but her brain still felt like mush.
She walked back to her classroom, still feeling clumsy, but at least her thoughts were clearer now. She shoot a glare at Kail that clearly read ‘don’t even try’, and he kept his mouth wisely shut for the last fifteen minutes of Maths class.

--
Yuuki staggered past the classroom’s door and into the corridor. One of her admirers, Jay, tapped her shoulder. “Hey,” he called gently. “You okay?”

Yuuki didn’t even bother looking back at him. “Well, what does it look like?” she asked through gritted teeth. Okay, maybe a little off the top. Blame my zombie-ness, she thought. “I’m fine,” she added in a softer tone, trying a smile. But as everything in her, it came out pale, almost a grimace of sadness. She bit her tongue as she walked down the corridor, leaving Jay behind. Anyone who looked at her would only see a tired girl. But she was feeling worse than a regular tired girl. Probably she was running out of sugar in her body. She wished she wouldn’t have forgotten her purse at home in the rush of leaving. Now she couldn’t buy a quick bite, and it was of no use asking any of the girls to lend her some money. Look at them, laughing at me, Yuuki spotted them at the other end of the corridor. Tasting my defeat, once in their lives. Of course they wouldn’t lend her money, and Yuuki herself was much too proud to ask them, too.

Any of the boys would have promptly bought her the snack, but the pride rule worked that way too. Plus, Yuuki was in no mood to stand their cheesy smiles and talk. She just walked down to the PhysEd changing rooms, and quickly swapped her normal clothes to her favourite designer track suit, all black with a silvery design in her left thigh, although now that she saw herself in the mirror she realized she’d be better off in her not-so-fancy blue outfit. Anything but black, which made her face look like a ghost’s, so pale and tired. Ah well. Can’t help that now. She shrugged faintly and walked down to the gym, losing herself among her classmates and tuning out for a moment.

When she refocused on what was happening around her, their teacher was already giving them instructions to form groups and grab a volley ball. She motioned forwards swiftly to pick one – maybe too swiftly, as she found out. Her head spun, aching, and she saw intermittent lights at the corner of her eyes. Funny of how they remind me of a machine shutting down… she realized slowly, her thoughts delayed from reality. She realized only too late she had lost her balance and was falling, but never felt her back hitting the floor. All faded away, and she heard only blurred exclamations before her brain decided it was time to force shut down.

--
Yelps and whisperings of surprise crossed the class as Yuuki fell. They had never seen the Ice Princess so weak. She who was always strong, determined and sarcastic was now fallen at their feet and nearly two dozens of curious heads bent over, whispering worries and suggestions. The teacher pushed through them, kneeling down and feeling Yuuki’s pulse.

“She’s just fainted,” he announced. “Everyone step back. I want one of you to take her to the infirmary, all right?”

Sunrise kept himself at bay, his hands in his pockets, almost as if forcing them to stay down and not to offer. He frowned. He had thought higher of Yuuki. Yes, he had played a low trick on her yesterday, but he had never expected her to pretend to faint in front of him and make him feel guilty and all. And, thinking of it, it was much unlike her. He shook his head, his orange eyes locked on the wooden floor. Fainted just to get his attention. He had thought he was a good actor the day before, but it was her who had been pretending all the while and he hadn't seen it. He felt helpless and somewhat heartbroken. Yuuki, always so cool and head-strong, had been some kind of reference point. Now he realized it had been a lie. He heard the teacher saying, “I asked for one student, not for a dozen!,” and after Jay carried Yuuki away Sunrise resumed the volley exercise. Yet the feeling of wrongness that had been haunting him ever since his talk with the blue-haired girl did not go away. Not for a moment.

Author's Note: Fwee, let's see how Yuuki and Sunrise work out this mess >D My, I love to torture my characters. Oh, for your information, the fainting stuff is as truthful as I could write it, since today all of it happened to me. Except fainting, but I *almost* did. And okay, I ate breakfast, but I'm just exhausted and ate very little. Ah well, never mind me. I plan doing one last chapter for this thing. Have to get the inspiration, though.

These are the first couples in my pet's ever.
It's a lovely tale. Describing how, even at first meet, they already knew what they wanted.
Obviously they met in quad form, in the time where words spoken as such demonstrated below. They have lived for an indefinitely long time.

The last leaf upon he old oak spiraled down to the ground, resting gently upon the glossy surface of the half frozen pond. Reeds caked in a glittering frost bent at the wight. Soft rustles could be heard as a squirrel scampered through the brush and birds called to each other from the tree's surrounding the small clearing.

Her eyes were a soft pink, standing out in contrast to her dark blue pelt, the natural light blue markings hardly visible. Her breath misted in front of her muzzle and she flicked her ears slightly, watching as her reflection in the pond copied her. It was nearing winter and the fish had sunk below the surface or the water to sleep. Animals scampered about, preparing to hibernate, if they weren't already.

A raven crowed and took flight, sweeping through the air with an elegant twist and disappearing, leaving a lone black feather studded with ruby red blood. She turned her gaze to it, marveling at it's sleek ebony form and how the tiny beads of blood glistened as bright as jewels. A soft crunch behind her made her turn her head slowly, knowing that she had all the time in the world. Standing in the entrance to the clearing, the leafless trees a dark brown, was a handsome pale green wolf. His ears were perked and the tips were separated, looking slightly like a caracal's ears.

Resting against his chest, bound by a single black thread, was a black stone, looking as if it had just been chiseled from the stone once it came. Dark green spirals crisscrossed his body in elegant markings, like a calligrapher's brush. He bowed, raising his three tails high in the air. "It's a bit cold to be out my lady." He said. His voice was soft, yet gently kind. Yet she knew that that soft voice could become as hard and as cold as ice. "So it is. And yet you are here." She retorted.

His lips twitched in a smile and he raised himself from the bow, advancing within a few feet from her. Without realizing it, her heart beat accelerated slightly. "So I am. So I am. I caught the scent of a raven. Then I caught your scent." He said quietly. She sniffed the air and was assaulted with the sweet smell of crisp autumn and pure cinnamon. It was his scent. Without her seeing it, he was doing the same. Her scent was a pleasant peppermint spice, a little bit of crisp winter cold to it.

"May I ask thy name?" He asked, watching her curiously. Everything about her intrigued him. The way she spoke, the way she smelled, even the way she looked at him. Unknown to him, she found him equally intriguing. "Is it not proper for he gentleman to speak his name first?" She said, raising an eyebrow. He chuckled softly, grinning with sheepishness. "Alas, you are right. Well, my name is Altair. A pleasure to be in your presence, fair lady." he said, dipping his head slightly. Her lips twitched. "Well, Altair, my name is Detz." She said gently. Her eyes softened. Something about him, the way he treated her perhaps, or the very chance of meeting her here in this clearing, attracted her to him. It made her want to lean in and breathe in his scent, burning her nose with the scent of cinnamon and Autumn.

He grinned, his blood racing. He felt the same and unconsciously, he found himself leaning towards her and breathing her scent in deeper, relishing the soft bite of the peppermint and the cooler sheet of cold winter in her scent. They smiled sheepishly at each other and withdrew, realizing that they had drawn closer to each other. Altair grinned, revealing white canines. "Well, Detz. If you wish, you can join me in my hunt." He said, smiling. Detz couldn't help but smiling back. "I don't see why not." She said quietly.

As the two raced away, chasing after the bird that had led their kind for so many generations to prey, the lone bloody raven feather lay still, upon the place where the two wolves had met, marking their meeting within time.
