COMMUNITY POLL: Rare Monthly Pets

I am nervous of this but also I like the idea of having harder to find outcomes. I think it will help with trading. It will be harder to get but make it so worth it

Something like the zebras being added is a cool idea, however I absolutely do NOT support constant rares in litters (like the August PPS). Like answrs above me said, it's already a pain to try and get even slightly more uncommon pets from litters. No support. I do not see how this would helpwith trading at all.

I like the idea, but the only problem is greed. People expect lists for a regular rare, which is a major problem

The golden gatcha made me have to trade 400C$ (when it first came out) to complete that month. And it was only a rare. T.T

Adding it every month is a bad idea, and will cause too much stress for people trying to complete outcomes. Having it like maybe... Once or twice a year saves headache and time.

Not sure how it would be fair to newer users who don't have enough fodder to complete their monthly set. Maybe instead of making the game even MORE difficult, maybe have 2 rare re-releases rather than just dec. 18th? (But keep the UR tradition only for Dec 18th, new URs twice a year is a bit much)

Maybe another pound rush like on CS 10th anniversary? We have enough pets in the pound for a rush once or twice a year.

Maybe revive the GH CS account to hand out more rares to newbies, and allow Users to donate to that if they prefer to have their rare+ pets go to new users rather than the pound?

Hopefully CS understands the concerns by our posts rather than looking at poll numbers.

Some say this would help newbies but it would only help the newbies who get the outcome. If you don’t get it? Don’t expect anyone to want to trade a rare from the last event for one. I’m really proud of collecting every pet that’s been released this year since I joined. If I couldn’t even have that? Idk I love the site but I don’t have a lot of rares to trade. Maybe I’d be open to it, but I am weary about it. People demand a lot of overpay for outcomes that are just uncommon sometimes. I guess it would be cool to have a chance to adopt a rare in the monthlies but I’m really scared about it.
(Anyway the month before I joined, this Valentines Day there was a lioness that was released that was “rare” until the new rarity change made it “extremely uncommon”. With it being “rare” no one wants to trade it! Or they want old rares and no one wants rares from this year. This pet has been my irritation of the site for months! I just want to say I’ve collected every pet from this year so far, but no that one pet is impossible.)
If that happened EVERY MONTH??? I’d go crazy

Maybe if the outcomes where “extremely uncommon” it would be fine but as soon as it says “rare” people go crazy about it.

The last several months, I've already had way too much trouble finding all the monthlies. This is due to the fact that at least one litter every month (sometimes more than one) for the last several months, I've gotten three to four (sometimes more) of the exact same outcomes in my original adopts. For example, this month, the first rat outcome, all but one of my original adopts grew. I got one newborn from the pound and one from a trade, so I have three now, but... This kind of thing has happened to me for at least the last three months (if not more). This mean I have missed several outcomes from the litter or litters. Those outcomes usually end up being uncommon. So, for me, the monthly uncommons are already kind of hard to get in a trade. I really do not like the idea of having monthly rares in the mix too.

I feel like I can safely say this would significantly decrease my interest in this site as a whole. I tend to have the worst luck in the world when it comes to stuff like this, so if it came to it being a regular thing, I would probably end up losing interest faster than a cheetah chasing dinner, personally.

Whatever comes of this, though, I do wish people appreciate the result of this vote overall and don't regret it.

I think itd be alright if it was once maybe twice a year. Vary up the species and the demand will vary as well, they dont all have to be lions or dragons. We all know people go nuts for the Lions and dragons

I chose 'I am not interested' because, beyond swapping for monthlies/events I do not trade.
So unless I got extremely lucky adopting it, I probably wouldn't get it. So yeah. ^^

I see potential in this, but also no. Unless it's excluded from Dec 18th, it seems a bit... pointless? But, at the same time, excluding this from Dec 18th is also just adding to the already present issue.

I was gone from late 2018-early 2022. I literally had to cough up store pets from pre-2014, pets from 2009-2010 (including Malks!), and frankly all my old fodder for monthly pets that were mostly below uncommon. Pets that, in terms of value, are so useless they don't re-release. Keep in mind, I still adopted monthly pets, I just missed some outcomes! Outcomes that mostly weren't special! I wasn't missing everything and I still had to overpay so badly! FOR MONTHLIES!

Even now, I have to cough up C$ every month for monthlies that are never more than uncommon at max. Commonly it ends up being pets who are VC to common, or even lower. So 1-4C$ for a pet that ends up being valued at .50C$ or less. This is usually 3-5 pets per month. That's not a massive loss until you factor in this is literally monthly and it's usually 3-5 pets minimum.

I have to do this to get them. The longer you wait = the better chance you'll have at not finding it.
And if this pet turns out uncommon and you didn't get it... you're screwed.
Do I need to bring up how the rainbow PPS cub from this year, people were spending 50C$ for it?

It's nice the staff can hear us saying there's an issue with rarity distribution and in general issues with user overvaluing for no reason other than pure greed. But releasing new, limited pets that are month exclusive defeats the entire purpose of a problem that is attempting to be fixed. You're basically throwing lighter fluid on a fire.


The most helpful thing would be two December 18th styled days or more boxes/higher adopt limits on December 18th. This can promote more greed, sure, but it also evens the playing field for people who get two new URs back-to-back FOR FREE and the person that got a free, 2009 VR rat that no one wants but they should be thankful for. Yes, this actually happened (I know because I saw it!).
