Welcome to chiffonwings' pet collection! With so many pets, I decided it was time to make my own post like this. This also seems like a good time to mention that you can feel free to PM me if you wish to know details about any of the names I give my pets, or you may post here. I'll share the story, if there's one to tell. Just so you know, I have a tendency to ramble in these posts a bit.

Well, I decided to be brave and open this up to posting. We'll see how it goes.

Edit: 4/13/10 This project is need of a huge overhaul. I've been unable to keep up with updating it for several months. I'm not sure when I'll have time to work on it, but I'm hoping it will be really soon. Right now, I'm planning on only posting my favorite pets (and leaving up the special posts like wishlist, family pet, custom artwork, etc.), but if you have any suggestions for a better way to do it, feel free to leave a post.

Alastaen Forest - All Time Favorite Pets
These are my All Time Favorite Pets. Alastaen Forest is simply a name I came up with for the group - I thought it deserved a special name. Feel free to PM me if you wish to know details about their names. Please note that some pets may show up again on my family pet post.

I have moved some of my pets from Alastaen Forest, to Edge of the Forest, where I have placed pets that I have "extras" of, or I like them a lot, but don't quite feel they belong in Alastaen Forest. This is a good place to note that Silverleaf and Goldenleaf are brother and sister, and they live at the edge of the forest, guarding all who live there-in. Another place with many pets that are special to me is the Special Gifts group - where I've put pets that people have given me, for Christmas, etc.

I love these rosebud dogs and I think they're amongst some of the most beautiful dogs on CS.


October 2008
I loved the moon dogs from the beginning, and I didn't like the white & teal/red/orange striped/spotted ones at first, but then some of them grew on me.

Like I'm sure is true with many others, the Advent 2008 pets are amongst my most favorite pets.


January Pets 2009
I'm 99% certain this was my first CS pet. I originally called it chiffonwings, but then the frosted butterwolves came out and I thought their wings were more chiffon-ish.


February Pets 2009
The silver and gold huskies were the first pets to cause a "collection urge" for me. Lorielle and Lorienten were named after my book characters.


June Pets 2009
I fell in love with the Vampiric birthday dogs. I love their vibrant color and the fact that it's based off of famous art! I also love the White Wood dogs. The soft creamy coloring and purple eyes... they're just lovely.


July Pets 2009
I love all the variations of this pet, but this is the only one in this group, right now.


August Pets 2009
I'm really thankful to the user who traded me the green butterwolf out of the blue for one of my pets. I was quite surprised!

With a lifelong love of music, I really loved the music note dogs. The Alice in Wonderland dogs were a special gift from a dear friend.


Halloween Specials


November 2009
I love the Tattoo dogs, especially the one with pointy ears and a lot of swirls. Some of the Multi-staff dogs I didn't like at all, and some of them I did... but I love the wild hair on Shima's version. I think these two dogs go really well together, actually.

Though I will be adding more of the Dec09 Advents here eventually, this is the only one I have in the group at the moment.


Lorielle
This is a special group dedicated to my book characters... Pets that remind me of them somehow. I'm including them on this post, because they would be in Alastaen Forest if I didn't create a special group for them. Lorielle and Lorienten are the main characters, Tristan and Isabella are the supporting characters. (It's a fantasy story.) I am still looking for this dog for Isabella.

Pets named after family pets
These are the only pets I'll write about at length after each particular pet.

Pet's name: Miss Laura Anne
9/12/00-8/10/09
Named after my black lab, Laura, who had bone cancer. We had to put her down at the beginning of last month. I traded for this pet specifically so I could name it after her. She was a really special dog. (I know everyone say that about their pets, but it really was true about Laura.) We brought her home on Halloween, and spent about a week without a name.
(I hope to eventually get another one of these dogs to name after another Black Lab that we had.)

Pet's name: Nutcracker
Named after my cat, Nutcracker. Pretty much the only similarity is the color, and the way the colors are on the face. His back is mostly white, with black blotches - kind of like a cow. His tail is all black, white a puff of white on the tip. He's a long haired kitty. Named Nutcracker because he used to come running into the kitchen at a sideways angle... kind of like a ballerina dancer. But, his nicknames of Nut, Nutsy and Nutty suit him because he's a rather silly kitty.

Pet's name: Mozart
Named after my brother's cat, Mozart. He died of throat cancer last year. He was mostly white, with a coloring style a lot like Nutcracker's (they were brothers) but in shades of stripy browns. His tail was black and brown stripes, just like a raccoon. I knew I had to name this dog after him. He's a long haired kitty too.

Pet's name: Miss Annie
Named after our Alaskan Malamute, Miss Annie. We got her the year before we got Laura, and she hates to be inside. Always wants to be outside watching the birds, and whatever other creatures are out there to see. This dog doesn't look that much like her - she has a bit more white - but it's the closest of the CS pets so far.

Pet's name: Rosie
This is named after a dog we used to have for a few years when I was about 8-10 or so. I don't really remember why we didn't keep her. Maybe because we didn't have much room since we lived in town at the time? She kind of looked like a cross between Annie and this dog - Annie's shading, but more brown.

Pet's names: Frenzy, Perky, and Charlie
Three different black cats we had. Frenzy looked almost exactly like this. Perky was a lot fluffier. Charlie was somewhere in between the two... and spent a few months being called Charlotte, because we thought he was a girl.

Pet's names: Tashmoo, Whisper, Lydia
These three are named after my aunt's cats. Tashmoo and Whisper look almost exactly the same, Lydia is a little more grey.

Wishlist/Trading List
I used to post all my wishlist pets on here, but that made the post kind of long, so I started using the new CS Wishlist (Thanks for that Tess and Nick! It's brilliant!) but didn't like having my true wishlist pets mixed in with the pets that would make good basic trading pets, so I decided that I would use the CS Wishlist for the pets that are my most wanted but not likely to get pets, and use this post for "common pets" that would be good for you to know what I'm looking for, for regular, day-to-day trading. It will also be used for pets that currently aren't in the archives, and to showcase my "most wanted/looking for" pets.

1. All pets that are not mine are used with permission from the user.
2. If A pet has a "." after it, it means I only want one more of that pet, and is used as a way to make it easier for me to find the pet in the listing.

I want to name the yellow dog after one of my book characters. The pink dog - it's not my favorite, but I have the other two variations and wish to complete the set. The white dogs and the 2nd gen are my favorites from this month.

I didn't want to clutter my wishlist with them, so these are all the fairly easy to find, useful for basic trading with kind of pets. There probably won't be much order to them, beyond type of pet - dog, cat, butterwolf, etc.

Collections and Hoards
Most collections, except for the ones which I'll always collect - I consider them "perpetual collections" I aim for a goal of 20 of that particular pet. More than that, and I have a tendency to get bored, less than that, it doesn't feel like a collection.

Collections that have either not been completed, or are "perpetual collections". Perpetual collections are marked with an *.

Silver and Gold*
These were the first pets to inspire a collection urge in me. I don't know what it is about them, but I love them! I mainly collect the grey and yellow ones as they're the easiest to find, but will add the black&white ones when I find them. Many of these dogs are named after songs.


Starry Starry Night*
I love the Vampiric Birthday dogs! I love their vibrant color and the fact that it's based off of famous art!


The Easter Bunnies*
I love the Easter Bunnies and in some ways I wish they were around year round. My collection is fairly large, so I'll just display some of my favorites. you can click the link above to see the whole set. These three are also the ones that I'm trying to collect in particular.


The Nature Trail*
This is another set which I really love. I think it must be the natural colorings. I have a few of the red ones in my collection, but they're my least favorite, so I'm not displaying them.


The Purple Meadow
My goal for this collection is 100 of the "common" Butterfly Wolves. Of course, I started this just days before they removed the "common" butterwolves and 2nd gens from the website, so it might be a little harder to complete. I thought this would be a fun set to try to reach a higher goal than 20 for, since it was the first pet I ever adopted from Chicken Smoothie! Once I reach my goal of 100, I will add these other purple butterwolves to the group.


To Take Flight
My goal is for 20, at least for now. I may lower it to 15.


Words of Life
This is a collection of pets where they are all named after parts of inspirational Bible verses. (Such as "Love is patient" "Shadow of thy wings" etc.) All varieties are in here, but my favorites are these plain dogs


Fall Turns To Winter
I wasn't really into the ponies all that much until these came out. The Fall and Winter ones are my favorites, so they're the ones I'm collecting.


Heatherpaw Cats
Because they're pretty, and I like their name.



Completed Collections
Sets which I am no longer actively adding to. Many times I will merge two collections to make my group list smaller. Quite often you will find that the collections are named after pets in other groups.

The Star Gems
This is a combination of two collections - The Amethyst Stars (the purple dogs), and The Sapphire Star (the black&whites).


The Eveninglight
I'll probably include the green winged dogs in this collection when it is complete.


The Haunted Forest
A combination of two groups yet again. The Haunted Forest (the white pine dogs) and The Metalace (May Metal dogs).


The Butterflies
Just a place to house my favorite Butterfly Wolves. It's more or less complete, but if there's another butterwolf that I fall in love with, I'll add it here. I love the frosted look to the first two, and the colors and roses on the last two remind me of the dresses in Jane Austen movies, like Pride and Prejudice.


The Sparkling Pond
I put all my Beta fish in this group, but my favorites are these two.

Custom Artwork
Custom artwork made for me by members of Chicken Smoothie. They're gorgeous! Thank you artists of CS!

My first custom artwork was made by Smincy of my book characters, at least if they were in wolf form. I love it, and it quite inspired me to possibly include that concept in my story. I think she did a wonderful job on it.



My second artwork was done by equimagine. She did a wonderful job, especially considering the difficulty I had in explaining what I wanted. The pegusus is named "Elvenlight". I love the detail on the "Evenstar" necklace.


This one is inspired by the Twilight book cover... while being a moderate fan of the first 3 books, I really love the simple and elegant style of the covers and thought it would translate nicely to another Pegasus, and I was right. Thank you equimagine! This pegasus currently has the unoriginal name of "Twilight". Maybe someday I'll come up with something more creative.


These were made by Tris as a free giveaway for Chicken Smoothie's 2nd birthday. I had her style them after two of my favorite CS pets. I think they came out really great!


This one, made by Compumon, is very special. I had it made in honor of my Black Lab, Laura, who I had to put down last August, due to cancer.

Adoptables from CS members
These are adoptables made by members of CS. They are not custom made, but I needed somewhere to post them.

These cute chickens are made by Chiambisu. The large gold one with the pink (not peach) bow reminds me of chickens we used to have. I can't decide which to take, so I'll post them all.

I'm only displaying my favorites. The rest of mine can be found in a group called the barnyard. The September Seasonal ponies were the first that I really loved, and wanted to collect more than what came in my own adoptions. My favorites are the ones for the Autumn and Winter seasons.
