Introduction
Deadliest Catch is a documentary/reality television series produced by Original Productions for the Discovery Channel. It portrays the real life events aboard fishing vessels in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan King Crab and Opilio crab fishing seasons.
The Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor, Unalaska, Alaska, is the base of operations for the fishing fleet. The show's name derives from the inherent high risk of injury or death associated with the work.
Deadliest Catch premiered on the Discovery Channel on April 12, 2005 and currently airs in over 150 countries. The first season consisted of ten episodes, with the finale airing on June 14, 2005. Subsequent seasons have aired on the same April to June or July schedule every year since the original 2005 season. Seasons are taped during the previous fall (King Crab) and winter (Opilio) crab seasons.

Members | Ranks
Every member will start out with a beginning rank and work their way up. All names are written in a specific color to represent their rank. This may be a Captain, Engineer/Deckboss, Deckhand, Greenhorn. To get each rank you do not have to pass a test or know all the parts of a boat. It is just how long you have been a member of the club. Everyone does not move up at the same time.
The Greenhorn is a new member. The Deckhand is a member who has been on for awhile and is consistently posting. The Engineer/Deckboss is constantly posting, helping me around the club. This rank would be considered a "Mini-Moderator." The Captain is a member who is posting everyday, helping me with the news and boats/crews. They look after newer members and answer any questions. Also known as a "Owner."

Why Do You Watch Deadliest Catch:
There are many reasons why. From a TV stand point I thoroughly enjoy watching some of the Crew members across the fleet. Josh Harris has a lot of determination to keep his father's legacy alive. Jake Anderson is a dedicated fishermen, giving everything he has into his work. Edgar's personality reminds me of myself. He has expectations that he expects every crew member to meet. Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand always put a smile on my face. Those two are the people I turn to for laughs. Sig Hansen is my favorite Captain. He is extremly dedicated to the Bering Sea and he would do anything for his crew.
I am also very into the ocean. Seeing the rough waves and the currents just fascinates me.

Phil Harris has left a mark on the Bering Sea that even the largest wave could never wash away. He was a devoted fisherman, loving father and a friend to all fans. If you have anything to say about Phil or you want to post something to his family, notify me and it will be placed here.

News
• Just 8 days after the end of the Opilio season for F/V Time Bandit, Justin Tennison (age 34) died in his sleep. The reason of his death is unknown. However, the police found beer bottles in his hotel room.
• Have you seen the new Cars 2 movie? If not, a special Deadliest Catch Captain voices. Yes, Captain Sig Hansen is the voice of his own boat, the Northwestern.
• On April 14th, Discover Channel announced that Deadliest Catch will return for it's eighth season. However the Boats/Crew Members returning have not been released.
