as for myself, I've owned about a dozen hamsters over the years,
but haven't had one since about 2016. about a week and a half
ago, I unexpectedly took in a rescue, from a local lady who
adopted a ham for her daughter... who turned out to be highly
allergic.
now I'm the loving owner of a gorgeous brown and white syrian.
he came to me with nothing, in a tiny cardboard box.. they
didn't even give me his name. I call him nova. he's not completely
tame yet, but he's a sweet boy. never tries to bite.
I built him a custom enclosure with almost ten inches of bedding,
a large sand area that's fenced off with bendy bridges, an 11 inch
acrylic wheel, a wooden two room underground chamber, a ceramic
house, a wooden house with cute little star and moon cutout details,
a third bendy bridge that leads to the bedding section, and 1,121 total
square inches of unbroken floor space. the free space is filled with
sprays, chew toys, and plenty of boredom breakers.
the wheel, ceramic house, wooden chamber, his water bottle that
comes with a wooden stand, and the bendy bridges are all by the
brand nitenagel. not sponsored - obviously - I just think they're
good
