Daiya no Ace is a shounen manga written and illustrated by Yūji Terajima and published by Kodansha. The first act ended in January 2015 with 47 volumes, and the second act is up to 14 volumes as of November 2018. The English translation of the manga first started publishing in 2017 and is therefore only up to volume 17 of act 1 as of November 2018. The series got an anime adaption where season 1 premiered on October 6th, 2013. Although the season was initially planned to be 52 episodes, it was extended and ended in March 2015, with 75 episodes. Season 2 started airing on April 6th, 2015 and finished in March 2016, with 51 episodes. Altogether there have been 126 episodes and 5 OVA episodes. Season 3 has been confirmed to be released in 2019.

The story follows Sawamura, who enters the prestigious high school named Seidou as a pitcher. He joins to play football, as Seidou High is known for their baseball, and have approximately 100 members on their baseball team. Sawamura, who just wants to pitch, finds himself up against the wall as he realises how big a gap there is between him and the other members. Desperate to catch up and gain the ace title for himself, Sawamura trains often and hard, doing anything he can to catch up as he rivals with other teammates, make friends of some, and helps Seidou High make another attempt at getting to nationals as the team faces their own share of challenges on the way.
