• Marinette Dupain-Cheng is the main protagonist of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Marinette is a school student in Paris. With her magical earrings, inhabited by a kwami named Tikki, she has the power of good luck and can transform into the superhero Ladybug.
  
  
  
• Personality: A kind and clumsy girl, Marinette is happy, cheerful, and generous. She loves fashion, her friends and family, and her crush on Adrien. But she does struggle with self-confidence and self-esteem. As Ladybug, she retains many of the ways she normally acts as Marinette, but she is much stronger and more confident. Her quick-thinking, resourcefulness, and wit comes out a lot more, especially when she is figuring out how to utilize her Lucky Charm.

  Adrien Agreste / Cat Noir
  
  
• Adrien Agreste is the deuteragonist of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a student at Collège Françoise Dupont and a fashion model. With his magical ring, inhabited by a kwami named Plagg, he has the power of bad luck and can transform into the superhero Cat Noir (Chat Noir in the French version)
  
  
  
• Personality: Adrien is charismatic, along with being shy and a bit reserved. While liking to have fun, he is more serious, obedient, and less lively due to his strict upbringing. If something makes him sad, he tries to downplay his feelings on it, like his relationship with his father. As Cat Noir, Adrien, having the freedom to act however he wants outside of his normal life, lets his wilder side come out, being cocky and outgoing. More optimistic and open, Cat Noir says whatever comes to his mind and makes a lot of jokes and puns, many being cat-related. In his attempts to get Ladybug's attention, along with other people, he brags and boasts about himself, but his change to his superhero status doesn't diminish his kindness and concern for others, among a lot of his other personality traits like irritation proneness and loyalty.

  Hawk Moth
  
  
• Hawk Moth (Le Papillon in the French version, which translates to "the Butterfly") is a villain who wants Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses and powers for himself. He creates and controls the akumas, evil creatures who transform normal people into supervillains.
  
  
  
• Personality: Hawk Moth is cold, cunning, and determined. His greatest desire is to claim Miraculouses to take over the world with, and nothing will stand in his way. His akumatized villains as his most powerful known weapon, he chooses his victims carefully and cleverly, giving them ideas if they're struggling to think up ones. He is a great deciever, persuading people that he cares about their problems and give them powers, when in fact, he does it because of his ulterior motive to use them to get the Miraculous for him. If things aren't going his way, he easily loses his patience, threatening harm to Ladybug, Cat Noir, and even the villains he creates. After defeat, Hawk Moth vows revenge and, while stopping for a while afterwards, doesn't wait too long to try again with his akumas.

  Akuma
  
  
• An akuma is a creature responsible for transforming people into supervillains. An army of them are created and led by Hawk Moth while Ladybug and Cat Noir are tasked to capture them. An akuma is a black butterfly with translucent purple spots on the edges of its wings. It is white when not fused with Hawk Moth's power. The purpose of an akuma is to possess an important object of a person, forming a link between the person and Hawk Moth. Once the deal is made, the akuma in the object releases black and purple smoke that transforms the person into a supervillain or possess it by the akuma.

  Tikki
  
  
• Tikki is a kwami that is connected to the Ladybug Miraculous, which Marinette Dupain-Cheng currently owns to become Ladybug.
  
  
• Personality: Tikki is calm and collected, while being cheerful, kind, and encouraging. Having a lot of wisdom, Tikki is very open to giving advice, and she will call people out for bad decisions if necessary.

• What's a Kwami?
  -Kwami are sprite-like creatures that help particular people with Miraculouses transform into superheroes and stop akumas. Kwami inhabit pieces of miraculous jewelry (like earrings or a ring) in order to give the person wearing them the ability to transform into superheroes. However, kwami can only keep the transformation for so long. When they lose enough energy used by the wearer, usually after the wearer utilizes their special power, the wearer reverts back into their normal form, typically after five minutes.To regain power, kwami need to refuel by eating food.

  Plagg
  
  
• Plagg is a kwami that is connected to the Cat Miraculous, which Adrien Agreste currently owns to become Cat Noir.
  
  
• Personality: Plagg is spiteful, lazy, and grumpy. He isn't very helpful and doesn't take situations as seriously as he should. He enjoys eating cheese, particularly camembert, and, besides being a way for him to refuel after powering Cat Noir, it sometimes has to be used to bribe him when he's being mischievous, like hiding from Adrien.

  Alya Césaire
  
  
• Alya Césaire is Marinette's best friend and a student at Collège Françoise Dupont. She is also the sole admin of the Ladyblog and head of the school blog.
  
  
• Personality: Alya is a rather energetic and passionate yet down to earth and smart girl. She is extremely loyal, supportive, and helpful, like going out of her way to encourage and (sometimes literally) push Marinette into spending time with Adrien. Her cleverness and foresight have come in handy many times.

  Nino
  
  
• Nino is Adrien's best friend and a student at Collège Françoise Dupont.
  
  
• Personality: Nino is fun-loving, enthusiastic, friendly, and compassionate. He enjoys being a DJ at parties and hanging out with friends. He is described as "a caring friend with a strong sense of right and wrong."Noticing when someone, like Adrien, is upset, he does what he can to comfort them or cheer them up. If he has a vision for something, he stays dedicated to it, sometimes rather stubbornly.

• Personality: Sabrina is meek, mousy, and very loyal to Chloé. She is always trying to impress Chloé and get on her good side by helping her.

I barely saw Ep.14 today and I'm quite surprised that Marinette didn't freak out that much like she used to when she was with Adrien the whole day and he got closer to her, real close, my god. <3 I lost it when he showed up to her house to help her!!! <3 <3

Yeah, I do, too! I love them both, but I'm just a huge fan of Plagg's devil-may-care nature.

But he is kind of mean to Marinette though. ^^'

Is her name actually Marinette? I know she resembles Marinette A LOT, but I thought she was dubbed Bridgette by the fans, seeing as she was never given an official name? I just have a hard time believing the 2D Ladybug is the same Ladybug we see in the CGI. I kinda wish we had more on Felix, though. I know Thomas dubbed him as an 'anime cliche,' - meaning he's cold to the protagonist and such, but a lot of character development could've gone into him, honestly - which is just wasted potential. ;_;

I speak a tad bit of French (not a whole lot, but enough to get me through an episode) but yeah! It was a really beautiful episode, honestly. Adrien was much more confident with standing up to Chloe, and Marinette's confidence is growing around Adrien, too, and I'll bet it has something to do with Chat's advantages on her building up her self-esteem.
I honestly would be okay if these two just end up platonic friends the whole season + the others, they don't need to be lovers. Adrien just needs someone he can lean on, and both Ladybug and Marinette are their for him at both times, and Marinette - she just needs the feeling of friendship, honestly. She's been harrassed by Chloe and Sabrina for so long (probably way before the show even took place) and the only one ever there for her was Alya. I dunno, as much as I'm a MariChat fan, I'm also 100% okay with a platonic relationship between the two.
