▇▆▅▃▂▁Goblin Gators are mischievous spawn that climb out from the depths of humid swamps. They love oranges and pudding but can be omnivores, being just as picky or lenient of their diet as humans can. GG's come in all shapes and sizes but all will have a prehensile tail regardless of it's shape. There is no Goblin Gator born without a tail and those unfortunate enough to lose theirs don't tend to live long in the wilderness, often losing their balance and unable to travel. All Gators possess back paws of a canine counterpart with dragon-like claws adorning their front limbs. Rarely you will find a Goblin Gator with fur on the insides of their ears, this is a rare mutation that covers and fills the eardrums--thus rendering any in this likeness deaf.
Most if not all Gators love to pull pranks and steal shiny objects to hoard for their nests. Most possess the power to control and bend earth, nature or water-like elements with ease. Other elemental control being more uncommon or rare. This being said, the type of element a Goblin Gator controls usually relates to the environment in which they live in. They prefer to live in solitude or small herds of no more than three or four. Wild Gators frown upon the frivolous pet lifestyle, but more recently many have been bred in captivity and are more tame. It would be risky to attempt to befriend a Goblin Gator considering their massive size of up to ten to fourteen feet long and from seven to ten feet tall. Humans often place bets on who can ride one the longest be being rolled off. Domestic GG's tend to come in half the size, being a favorable mode of transportation in more rural areas.
▇▆▅▃▂▁---
▇▆▅▃▂▁Goblin Gators are highly intellectual. Even more so than humans possibly. But they wouldn't let human society in on this. Why? Because then they'd have to do boring things like work jobs or pay taxes! Most GGs can and do often steal shiny things of value, since most go by a bartering and service system. These larger societal systems are often hidden underground or in the depths of dangerous areas most humans could not withstand. Some things are stolen for personal use, such as video games, TVs,etc.
While some do offer services on a daily basis, it's always in exchange for something in return. Never a monetary payment, unless requested. Since Goblin Gators do like to hoard shiny objects and some natural currencies such as gold and silver, do exist in these societies, get bartered around. They are more likely to exchange for what they need rather than what they want unless content with needs at that time and place. This includes elemental support. Like storing electricity from one to power smaller entertainment stolen from humans. Homes constructed from nature and earth users. Warmth and alternate light sources from fire element users. Just about anything you can think of, but more!
As mentioned before, Goblin Gators tend to only reside in living spaces together of three or four. This could be family or close friends considered as family. Often when expecting a nest, those involved (if not all) will move elsewhere until the nest has hatched to keep their whereabouts safe as possible. It's not because they don't trust others with their secret, it is merely a safety precaution. Sometimes, not often, GGs have become infertile by use of human resources. Wither they used to be pets or bartered for them outside of that. These infertile GGs hire others and will pay big for another's egg.
These bartering societies will form when a large group (otherwise known as a cluster) of smaller families reside in close proximity. While very useful and friendly on the surface, most will look out for spies or scouts sent by humans to track them. Some will disintegrate if found, others are purely nomadic because of this. This being the main reason Goblin Gators do not house larger wild families.
Outside of this, actual social behaviors mimic other animals. A more dominant gator will bellow like their alligator counterparts or even roar much like a lion. These can be used to assert dominance of territory or calls for their friends or family. They stand their ground with ears and tails held high, similar to canine counterparts. A irritated GG is one to be reckoned with, they will display pinned back ears and a lashing tail often out of anger, anxiety and even fear, in defensive warning they may hiss. Submissive gators are more likely to hold their tails low and even lower their bodies to the ground in the presence of more dominant counterparts. An uncomfortable, in pain or scared gator will cry, whine, yelp and in more extreme cases hiss as well. When it comes to territory or romantic advances, GGs will often brush up against each other, especially their gums and teeth onto the other. Purring is also often seen as overly friendly or flirtatious. It's not uncommon for friends, partners or close relatives to engage in social grooming. Nuzzling is usually more friendly than romantic affection unlike brushing against another or licking each other's muzzles.
Hatchlings, elderly or sick Goblin Gators have been known to be more vocal to get attention unless too tired. These are series of high pitched chirps or squeaks that can be heard for miles to other GGs. It's usually used to cry for help or find others that can be lost or trapped as well.
▇▆▅▃▂▁Most GGs don't tend to stick with the same partner to keep variation in genes, not to mention the larger clutch sizes limit some gators commitment, spooking them away. We're looking to reward those who go out of their way to keep together. Please keep in mind the art and writing section of the nursery for clarification of what can and cannot be done for art prompts unless otherwise specified.
There are four stages of commitment to becoming the ultimate and final goal of soul mates. Note there are two different paths. Open or closed relationship. Open allows the mated pair to openly seek other relations and allow breeding with those, but give less benefits. Closed means they will only be able to see each other, no straying and breeding outside of that. Please keep this in mind when choosing to make your GGs mates. Mating your GGs is completely optional and not required. This is mainly to give mated pairs more chances to breed.
Rewards are only redeemable once per same GG, so if you only get to courting but not intendeds with someone else's character and decide to start over with someone new, you will not get the rewards you already earned for both interested and courting again for that specific character.
Stage 1: Interested
This is the beginning of the relationship between all parties. That spark that begins everything.
REQUIREMENTS: One short story (500 word min) or drawn piece (see nursery art guidelines) of all parties meeting and interacting with each other for the first time.
Stage 2: Courting
This is when things begin to heat up. It becomes more serious for each party.
REQUIREMENTS: Three extra combination of stories (500 each) or drawn pieces of romantic dates, showing further growth of the relationship.
Stage 3: Intendeds
This is the same equivalent as promise or engagement rings, but GGs can have any two or three identical items anywhere on their bodies to signify their unity. This could be something as simple as same type bird feathers on different places of their body to all wearing the same patterned scarf, etc. Get creative!
REQUIREMENTS: Purchase and design Intendeds blessing. Does not have to be bought by party and price can be split or item gifted. Items must be applied to references. Once items added, shared news on fanclub.
Stage 4: Soul Mates
This is the final goal! If you complete this then your GGs will be able to breed an extra time with a guaranteed number of children.
REQUIREMENTS: A huge celebratory thread with a group of no less than three per party, a ceremony where two or more are circled by their parties and joined in a same chant-like vows to unit the soul mates. Any desired objects may be thrown above and around the new soul mates. Multiple GGs may be owned by same users. Must be a completed thread or does not count. Please see below for requirements to end the thread. If traded away and broken off from mated status, they may not be mated again.- start a thread on CS for the ceremony.
- have all GGs present for the ceremony.
- have the group circle and cheer for the soul mates.
- have at least one GG throw anything over the new soul mates.
(Petals, leaves, glitter, etc. Get creative but keep it CS appropriate!)
Feel free to do more, but these are the base requirements. You could have everyone bring and eat food, do exotic dances, etc.
