The Bayou Kelpies may be a fairly new addition to the adoptable community on CS, but that doesn't make them any less amazing. One by one they shall creep out of the swamps to claim our hearts, and in time perhaps take over the world! For who can resist their alluring eyes, endless wisdom, and mysterious aura? So, it has become the cry of Kelpie lovers everywhere that this phenomenal species gains a fanclub. And so I have given in to the demand of the masses and created the perfect place in which to drool and crow over this beautiful species. Have a kelpie you want to show off? Bring 'em down to the fanclub! Looking forward to getting your very first? Come down to the fanclub and share your excitement with us! Curious about the species and want to know more from kelpie owners? Come on down to the fanclub! Seriously, there's something here for everyone, it doesn't matter if you don't know a single thing about the Kelpie species, we'll still gladly welcome you with open arms ^^ Just keep an eye out for some of the Kelpies and make sure to follow the rules, not all of them are cool with humans traipsing around their swamps and disregarding their laws, don't want anyone getting eaten by one.

.Story and Background.
These equines are very shaggy and soft looking Drafters. They inhabit the bayous of Louisiana- patrolling the swamps...Gaurding their secrets...
The people of the nearby delta village say that they are the spirits of the swamp, defending it from the humans and their greedy hands.

There have been many sightings of the mysterious beasts, but no viable evidence has been found of their existance.
But the people know they are there, people who have seen the mysterious animals seem to be permenently changed, not for worse, the sighters have actually seemed more universally aware, and wiser than they have ever been.

Some people even wish to see one of the kelpies to gain wisdom.
Others believe that the Kelpies choose who sees them, and only show themselves to people who need guidence,

......But who knows?.....

.Characteristics and Appearence.
All Kelpies are a drafty Kind of body type. They look as if they are a cross between a drum horse and a Gypsy vanner. They have shor stocky body bodies with longer legs.
Their mmanes and tails are EXTREMELY long, and can come in different textures,
Their coats also come in any horse color- meaning that coat color is not breed specific.

And just as another fun fact, right behind their front teeh they have very sharp little canine teeth, that males use for fighting. They also use those for the humans who attempt to ride them....
People who attemp to ride or tame kelpies are usually thrown and are devoured by the animals, they have found broken bones that have been cut clean through, and skulls with large holes on the back of the head..Its hard to believe that such nice, fuzzy looking creatures can be so vicious and ruthless..

Females can also have antlers, but are usually not as large as that of a males. Males tend to have long, spiked antlers that stick out right in fron of their faces so they can fight. While females have straight thin ones that resemble a Gazzelle.
And some, But VERY rarely, have no antlers, and maybe even small nubs that are covered by their manes.

Each month there will be a poll with five different Kelpies, of these five people will vote to choose their favourite. That Kelpie shall be placed here along with a little blurb about him/her, and will proudly occupy this space until next month's poll results are in. And so we shall -eventually- go through every single Kelpie in existence.

So, do you think your Kelpie deserves to be here? PM a link to yours and the first five to PM shall be put in the poll. Remember, this isn't meant to make anyone get hurt feelings, every single Kelpie is fantastic and beautiful, this is simply a fun little activity that everyone can participate in.

"If the lady of the hour would please join me here on stage, we have a lovely spot of fresh hay for her to stand on."

"Greetings! Greetings! Please do make yourself comfortable."
-she settles onto the soft hay-
"Now then, down to business:
For our first question....tell us a little about yourself."
"Umm well, I grew up in a rather small herd. My best friend was a few years older than me, Fenris was his name. He ended up protecting me from a disaster that would have ended my life. Sadly we parted ways so I haven't seen him until a chance encounter recently."
"I see, how very tragic! Now, how would you describe your personality?"
"Umm hmmm, thats sort of an odd question but...I suppose I'd say that I am somewhat of a flirt. I enjoy the company of males far too much, and given that I am alone the majority of the time...I suppose thats not terribly shocking. I also think I'm quite stubborn and proud, I've also definitely got a wild streak within me and a whole lot of courage. I suppose one could sum me up as something of a wild card, as I'm not very predictable."
"How interesting! Now, and do tell us the truth, is there a love interest in your life?"
-Mirela blushes and shifts uncomfortably-
"W-well, there are two males that I fancy quite a lot, but....I'm sure nothing will come of it...probably."
"Ooooh I for one cannot wait to see how that pans out! Anyways, that's all we have time for today, we'll be back with a new guest in about a month."
