I swear non symmetrical designs must be the bane of artists lol. I am so scared of ordering art of Ranj because he has very little symmetrical about him. I am so worried I will order art and they will like mess up his eye or wing or something >.< lol.

Yup, probably. Though his design is symmetrical, just in different colours :P
I have to specify now when I order art of him. Which is admittedly quite rare at the moment as he really has enough X3
But I mostly ignore any mistakes, I don't like asking people to change things unless it's really small, or a key detail.

Has someone ever gotten a marking/color on a request/commission you asked for wrong. Was it a big deal where it made it hard to then use the art or was it so minor it made no big difference. Would you like to show off said work(s)?

Yes, but it's bound to happen occasionally ^^; Unless it's major and/or I payed a lot for it, I just leave it.

Larkspur - I've had her with a black coat instead of grey, her eye marking drawn wrong, I even forgot it on one of my own drawings XD She also had her ears colored wrong

Normal - Black base - Wrong marking - Wrong ears

Kitu - He used to have brown eyes until I ordered a ref of him that gave him orange eyes, and I liked it so much I kept it XD He gets markings wrong on occasion and his bracelets mixed up

Normal - Incorrect back legs and swapped bracelets

Lucifer - His eye markings get drawn wrong sometimes, and his words get screwed up all the time

Normal - No words - Wrong direction

Don't blame the artists, if you want them to do it correctly provide a good reference or description. If the artist stuffs up an eye colour, then idk I mean it's kinda rude to blame artists when they're working so hard to get the rest of the design right and then people get so worked up over one detail going wrong. I mean, yeah, it sucks when markings go wrong but it's not fair to bash the artists???

Like, I remember there were a few designs I had to draw but I couldn't get the detail quite right or I accidentally stuffed up the eye colour or something but if someone blamed me for it then I would be offended, because I'm so caught up drawing it and everything that I didn't realise I'd gotten it wrong???? I guess it's just hard for artists to notice detail sometimes since they go through a lot of work so.... yeah.

Well, if you're paying them (especially if you're paying with real money), it's their job to get every marking and detail right. I appreciate how hard they work, but I'll ask someone to fix something if I paid for it.

Sort of the same thing for me Exo, if I'm paying, I'll ask, if it's free, I probably wont unless they ask me if there's anything I want them to change. XD I ask nicely, trying not to offend them or anything and tell them if they don't want to or don't have time, I'm okay with it. ^^;

I don't like to ask artists to change things, but on the odd occasion I will, especially if it's for one of my favourite characters.

When ordering art and providing a link to the character's page, I take note of what art is in there, and perhaps link them directly to a piece that is the best example of colours/markings if there are pieces on the page that I don't want them to colour pick off.

I do it the same way. I even put little subs on some of my pics saying Main Image, Secondary Image, dont use markings here for ref, best back ref. Just little notes so that if I send the full page of art the artists can see what pieces are good to use and what isnt. If something is wrong with my art, if its digital I may ask if they can alter it if its easy, if not then pfft, I still like the artwork ether way because they put so much hard work into it but I know if it was me and I messed something up if I had the power I would want to correct it.

Lark: Its weird, for my one character with an accesory they have never put it on the wrong leg yet o.O makes me wonder when shes going to choose to switch what writst she wears her bracelet lol. The main accessory prob is people dont add her necklace but that one is all my fault because I forget to mention it and her main image was made before she got the necklace so its not in all her ref pics. And I can see how Lucifer would get messed up, writing backwords would annoy me so baddly.

Mukuro: Dont think anyone was really blaming the artist, as stated everyone does this kind of mistake and it makes for fun stories ^^. Amazing Kia art btw, whoever wins will be lucky to get that piece.

Exo/Rabbit: So true, but most artists are very reasonable when it comes to such things and if they cant fix it most character owners understand ^^
