I used to read her books. I'm the opposite--I loved the Immortals quartet and re-read it several times, but I never finished the Song of the Lioness ones--I think I only read the first two. They were quite good, they just weren't for me.

Never heard of her... Sounds like it may be enjoyable though! I may check her out! :)

@Laura
You should, her books are excellent. She's written several series about Tortall (sort of a fantasy medieval-esque country) and several other series about another thing (The Magic Circle, but I've never read them so I can't say much about it).
But yeah, if you enjoy fantasy you'll probably enjoy her.

I'm in need of some assistance, and I would really appreciate some help from you guys.

Okay, so...I'm looking for a good series to read (or just individual books). I absolutely ADORE Fantasy and Sci-Fi, though I do love Mystery and Comedy as well. I absolutely DETEST romance novels - like "Twilight" and "New Moon" by Stephanie Myer - though a little bit of romance isn't too bothersome ("The Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins). I've read all of the Percy Jackson books (except for most of the newest series) and the first book in "The Kane Chronicles," which I quite enjoyed. I've enjoyed "Warriors" by Erin Hunter, "Artemis Fowl" by Eoine Colfer, and nearly all of Frank Peretti's books. I also LOVE Jenny L. Cote and every book that I've read by her. When I was younger I adored E. D. Baker, though I haven't read anything by her lately (I was obsessed with "The Frog Princess" series before Disney even THOUGHT of changing the entire storyline and making it into a movie).

So now that you guys know what I like, I'd love to get some suggestions from y'all about what books you'd suggest I read. I'm currently rereading my old Warriors books (I reread "Warriors: The Original Series" 1-3 years ago, and now I'm finally starting up on rereading "Warriors: The New Prophesy"), and I'm also in the middle of "I am Spock" by Lenard Nimoy, "How Did it Begin?" by R. Brasch, and "The Dumbest Generation (or Don't Trust Anyone Under 30)" by Mark Bauerlein.

The Ender's series is a great series. I also enjoyed the Healing Wars trilogy, and I've read the first book of the Daniel X series, and quite liked it. :)

Seer of Shadows by Avi is also a good choice. It's a mystery/ghost story. ^^

@booklover
If you like Warriors, you might like the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. His writing style is much less simplistic, though it's not hard to read. There's like 21 or 22 books so you won't run out of books anytime soon xD
The books are about a bunch of animals (mice, squirrels, otters, badgers, hedgehogs, moles, etc.) that live in a peaceful abbey. The series is about the creatures defending the abbey from invaders- foxes, rats, stoats, wildcats, etc. Most of the stories follow the same basic plot line, but they're different enough to be interesting.
A few of the books are about their legendary warrior, Martin the Warrior, before the abbey was built.
If you start reading the series, I'd suggest starting with Mossflower. That one's about Martin defeating the evil tyrants so they can build the abbey in the first place. Mossflower was my favorite book. Another place to start is with the first book he wrote, Redwall.
The books have a chronological order, but if you read them out of order then it won't be too confusing. I think the list can be found on Brian Jacques' website. (Found a link here)

I recently started a wild book hoard, trying to read everything.
I recently finished the Divergent series and I was wondering if there
was any other series you guys recommend? I'm thinking about
The Mortal Instruments? Maybe?

I liked the Matched trilogy. It's another dystopian series. The Uglies series (Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and Extras) is also one I enjoyed. If your looking for more fantasy, I would try the Healing Wars trilogy. The author has a simple writing style, though, so it may seem a bit young. The story line is very well written, however. ^^

Does anyone have any mythological series they liked? I've read the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and Kane Chronicles series, so I'm looking for things similar to that. :)

*Crawls out of shadows* Indigo the Animorphs fangirl is back! Now anyone know where I can find some cool-looking Animorphs images to put in my sig?

Also, I'm thinking of writing a story. It's called Light Dragon, Dark Dragon, and here be my ideas so far:
There are two subspecies of dragon who really don't get along: the eastern-style snake dragons and the western-style crocodile dragons. Our hero is a human raised by crocodile dragons. The humans in this world are few and far between. He's been raised thinking snake dragons are evil, but really the dragons are in grey-and-gray-morality conflict. Also, there's a phytamorphic (that is a word now) unicorn/pegasus hybrid that is the guardian of a forest.

It's been quite a while since I last posted here! One plus side to our internet being annoyingly slow, I had plenty of time to read! So here's a list and my opinions of everything I've read lately (excluding ones that I've forgotten, of course).

Cujo, by Stephen King: I liked this one, a creepy and suspenseful read. Though the ending made me kind of want to fall to my knees and scream "Why?!?".
Carrie, by Stephen King: The style of this one was very un-Stephen King-ish. The story was simple and direct with none of the trademark twists and turns. But, then again, this was one of his first (maybe the first novel) he wrote.
The Fault in Our Stars, by John Greene: Finally a YA book with a romance that's actually very touching and sweet! I believed and actually cared about the characters.
Thirteen Reasons Why, (can't recall the author's name): Interesting, and a very fast read. I really only had one issue with it. It's a fairly big spoiler, so it will be in light font. I really hated how the narrator (Clay, I think his name was) was portrayed as so blameless in everything. This seriously ruined the entire book for me.
Anthem, by Ayn Rand: This was a short and very simple read (only maybe a hundred pages), and one of the best individualist works I've ever read. (Sidenote: EGO)
Catcher in the Rye: I'm only maybe 3/4 the way through it so far, so no real opinions yet. Though can I point out that some of those paragraphs are ridiculously long!

My next read is Franz Kafka's The Trial. Mostly because my favourite actor stars in the 1963 version. I'm not sure how I'm going to feel about the fact that it's unfinished. That could bother me for a while.

Ever read a book that you really really want to read but you just can't finish it? I've been trying to read Tamora Pierce's Immortals quartet for the second time now but I just can't do it! I don't know why, I love her books and I adored the Lioness quartet. I like Daine and Numair and Onua, there's just something that's not hooking me in. I guess I'll skip to another series by her, but I hate to do that :P
