also you shouldn't take the water bowl out, it's actually against the law (Under the Animal Welfare Act 2005 Five Animal Needs) for animals not not have a constant supply of water.

I'd rather a baby not drown, and if I put it back it could happen. It's ok as long as you allow the animal water, which I do :3

The mother can eat the babies if there's no water or food when they want, you are lucky to have them all alive, so, I advise you getting a water bottle, as the bowl is dangerous, there are some who fit in bins and gallons, I use bin cages and I have them, if you can't find one, then buy a bottle with a little hole, then put a wire, I'm portuguese, I don't know how to explain.
If the first litter was weak and the mother couldn't take care of them correctly then you shouldn't have bred her again.
But Vanilla if I can remember well, was inbreeding?? Or am I wrong? When was the first litter?

The water bottles I'm talking about are these:

Or something similar to them, with that little hole to put the wire, the wire WILL NOT have contact with the Hamster.

A holder like this would be helpful as well:

Sorry, I don't have the time to read every post after my last one, but meh, I'm trying to be active on Chicken Smoothie again, but I've been so, so busy.

I had that problem once, but I found out how the Hamsters reached it and worked the problem out, any option above would be better than the bowl, the other option is easily found on pet shops and are not expensive (the holder). :)

My Hamster reached it because I put the water bottle too low and it climbed by it.

Her first litter wasn't weak, they were fine. It's just she had 12 this time. And no, Vanilla wasn't inbred. The babies were 2 weeks when I took the bowl out, so I knew that she wouldnt eat them :3 I have a lid that I fill with water now so they can't drown, but I'll try to find that bottle when I breed next, thanks :3 Anyone know were to get a good breeding pair?
