My opinion of "Sleepless in Ponyville", along with some questions I have, can be found below.
Rarity's reaction to camping was priceless. Her face was absolutely hilarious. That two-story pop-up tent was pretty awesome; I'd love to own one.
RD snores, as does Scootaloo. Now there's yet another thing that they have in common.
PRINCESS LUNA! Oh my Celestia, I seriously squeed when she showed up on that screen. I am so amazed at her showing up in the series so early. I find it interesting that she can appear in dreams, and make them from bad to good. I think that's a great talent. It's totally awesome! I can't believe she actually showed up. I hope this isn't the only time we see her in Season 3, though. I love how she helped Scootaloo get rid of her fears; not by giving her a simple answer, but by suggesting she face her fears. Luna didn't just make the fear go away - she told Scootaloo to face it on her own to make her nightmares stop. It is comforting to know that whenever ponies have nightmares, Luna will help them go away, and she will help the ponies to conquer their fears. I liked Luna before this episode, but now I absolutely adore her. She is now my favorite princess.
I felt like Rarity treated Sweetie Belle like her own personal slave/servant.
It was really disheartening to see how not concerned Rarity was for Sweetie Belle's levels of pain; she was clearly sweating while pulling that carriage, but Rarity didn't seem to care. That's very un-Rarity like of her, and it actually made me a little miffed that Rarity would ignore her sister like that. I can only imagine how heavy that carriage full of luggage was.
I love Sweetie Belle - she's my favorite CMC - and to see her being mistreated, and putting up with it....well...I really think she should have protested when Rarity was acting like a snob.
On the topic of Sweetie Belle, I really don't like how she seemed to gullible and naive in this episode. She didn't seem as smart as she normally does; and I miss that. Sweetie Belle's voice actress has clearly been changed; I miss her old singing voice. It wasn't so squeaky and annoying.
Back to the topic of Rarity and Sweetie Belle....well, I understand that Sweetie Belle requested that Rarity go on the trip, and guilted Rarity into going. I get that. But even if my sister guilted ME into going on something that I didn't want to do, I'd still carry my bags and stuff around. They're my responsibility, not hers. She's not my servant. So, yeah. I still don't understand how Rarity could do such a thing. Needless to say, this really bothered me. Any explanations? I mean, I understand Rarity doesn't like camping, but...that's no excuse to make your little sister do all the hard work.
From the first time I saw Scootaloo, I wondered where her family was. She didn't have any parents, not any siblings, and not any friends until she met Sweetie Belle and Applebloom. Anyway, I like Scootaloo more after seeing this episode. From the beginning I wasn't a huge fan of her. She was rude, and quite inconsiderate at times. She was kind of annoying, but in that little kid-ish way, in that you know that they'll grow out of it. That knowledge didn't make me dislike and hate her more, but it certainly didn't make me like her at all. But after this episode, I find myself liking and understanding her more. I finally understand her "tough-guy" appearance and attitude; why she can't bear to be thought of as a baby.
It was really nice to see Rainbow Dash take her under her wing. It was also refreshing to hear that Scootaloo WANTED to have someone to look after her; up until now I thought she was fine with being alone.
I was desperately hoping Scootaloo would fly, but having RD help her was a pretty good ending.
I found it interesting that Applejack was the only one to really figure out that Scootaloo was having a problem. I guess it just adds more depth to her already complex character; and I really am starting to like AJ more as the series progresses.
The lesson/moral of the episode was very good. Tell someone about your fears, even if you think they'll think badly of you. If you're losing sleep, go to someone and ask them for help. They may laugh at you, but probably won't. And who knows? Maybe that someone will be more like yourself than you ever imagined.
This is my favorite episode out of Season 3. If there are better episodes after this one, I'll be surprised. I loved the entire thing; except for the whole Rarity being a snob part.
Things to keep in mind before you start ranting at me: I am a fan of Rarity. I like Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie more, but I do like Rarity. I have nothing against her; in this episode, however, she's just very bratty and snobby, in my opinion. I hate how she made Sweetie Belle do all of her hard work. If my sister were doing that for me, I'd at least offer to help her carry some of it; I wouldn't let her carry it all. She's too small to carry all of it. Plus, she'd probably refuse me if I asked, anyway. X)
I have never LOVED Rainbow Dash or Scootaloo. But I really did love this episode.
I love Luna, but I love her even more now. Haters gonna hate, but I've always liked her.
Questions that were brought to my mind while watching this episode:
I often wonder where Scootaloo lives, since she doesn't have any close family to take care of her. Does she live in Cloudsdale, even though she can't fly? Or does she live in Ponyville with some other adoptive family? She clearly doesn't have any siblings, but...where are her parents? Did they die, or do they just live in Cloudsdale?
If Luna can banish bad dreams and help ponies conquer their fears; what did Nightmare Moon do? I think she was the exact opposite, causing ponies to be fearful of everything and creating more bad and fearful dreams for the young ones. Perhaps this is part of the reason Celestia banished her to the moon.Pandalove789 wrote:{ i'm watching the new episode
i'm happy scootaloo finally got an episode!
but did anypony else see luna in the forest during her nightmare? [ haha just got ninja'd with that]} ☂
Yes, I noticed it almost immediately. Until she showed up later, I kept thinking, "Was that Luna's only appearance int this entire series?! It better not be."Tea Kettle wrote:That scene with Princess Luna is my favorite this season, maybe even the entire series. I've always loved Luna and I'm glad she is appearing more. It's really really nice to see Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo bond, looking forward to seeing all of the fanart based off this episode. I really enjoyed this episode, it just might be my new favorite.
I completely agree. That Princess Luna scene is my favorite scene out of what we've seen of Season 3.
:: nyctophobia :: wrote:And having an episode where Dash is portrayed as something more than just arrogant and egotistical is something I've been waiting for. I loved seeing her take on a sisterly role for Scootaloo, and watching her help Scoots fly...
THIS. SO MUCH. Really, I completely agree with you.

Thoughts for Lullaby for a Princess on Youtube? <3

That is my favorite fan song.
But not my favorite song that relates to ponies, that's Madame Librarian.
/tacklehug/ I LUFF IT. <3
I like the song, but I prefer "The Moon Rises" by PonyPhonic.

It's one of my favorite Brony songs.

But.... did they forget the ruler of Equestria? I thought they always send a letter to Celestia, but now it seems that they don't care about her xD
Celestia told Twilight and her friends that they should send letters "When, and only if you learn anything on the magic of friendship". Helping someone overcome their fears really doesn't have anything to do with friendship. I mean, it's a really awesome thing to do, but...does it really help someone become friends with someone else? Yes, in some circumstances. But it's not a HUGE thing or a 100% certain, "hey, you'll make friends if you do this" kind of thing.
Though, I feel like they should've sent a letter to her after that Trixie episode. Or at the very least, Twilight could've trotted over and told her what happened. That was just...a horrible ending. Sorry to all you fans of the episode; I like the episode, but the ending just stunk.Wolf~Song wrote:Tofuudog wrote:The episode was great, I love Scootaloo c:

Well, since Twilight Sparkle was not in this episode I guess they figured that they wouldn't send one.. at least that is what I think.
No, I don't think that's it at all. In one episode, all the ponies helped each other write one long letter to the princess. In another, Pinkie wrote one all by herself. RD has written one all by herself. You get the point, right? Just because Twilight wasn't there doesn't mean that they couldn't write a letter.
~AnimalAddict~ wrote:I like her because she's the only one who is artistic. None of the others create anything.
I hate how she's made fun of for it. Yeah, I'm not really into fashion, either, but the point is she is creating things. Just like I create pictures. :3
Fluttershy technically has to write songs for her bird choir. She creates music, no? X)
AAAAAAAND..........Since everypony is posting their personality quizzes, why don't I take one and post my answers? X)

Second to Twilight, I'm most like...Rarity?! Huh. When I think of it, I'm a little fashion-oriented. I don't LOVE LOVE LOVE it, but....I like to look good when I leave the house.

And I know I'm like Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. I'm quiet around those I don't know, but I'm quite boisterous and loud around those I do know. X)
I guess I can be cocky at times, like RD. And my mom's from the south, and I can speak fairly well in a southern accent, and I do have high and good morals like southern-folk do; so I guess it would make sense if I was like Applejack too.
I guess the quiz is right. I have a little of each of the mane six in me. X) But I must say, my favorite is Twilight.
