Holibombs Discussion Thread

Happy holidays everyone!!

This is technically my first year playing this game, I played something like this a long time ago because I've been on cs for a really long time now but stopped when the trading game rule was implemented, super glad something like this is still running years later!!

My goal is to hit everyone on the list and 100 people off the list by new years eve!! I've only been actively playing for two days and already hit 100

Tropical because I can spend time with family outside doing all sorts of things.

I have realized Holibombs does not really math that well. most people with the holibomb thingy in their SIG have gifted much more than they have received. so where do all the gifts go? pretending they gifted everybody they were gifted by, something has to happen to the excess.

Holibombs is different to LOLO in that you don't have to gift the other players, the gifts can go to anybody. I definitely sent a good portion of my gifts to friends, staff or users I know who are good beans.

Another reason would be not saying it is a Holibomb. I do get the odd gift here and there and admittedly didn't check the Holibombs player list for those when the message was anything else. My received gift count is likely a liiiiittle bit higher (probably plus 5~10).

I very quickly lose track, to be honest. I'll start gifting December 1st, and I stop gifting the 31st. But I am also trading for missed outcomes, and this is when I have majority trades. So yeah, what Raire said. The gifts will go to people on the Holibomb list, random users, often new users to help them, people who are also collecting animals...

I mainly gift people I randomly see online, not necessarily other people who signed up for Holibombs. But this actually helps spread the word about Holibombs and recruits more people to join since I link to the thread in my trade message:

I try my best, but if I don't have anything on their wishlist, I'll save my pets/items for people who DO have them on their wishlist. I hope next year I can build up more trade fodder so I can gift everyone back ^^

I managed to reach my goal of sending 100 gifts! But now I'm going to go back through the sign-up list and try to get to 150 before New Year's!

I’m glad that I at least managed to join this year. I’ve been so busy that usually I help out with the thread but this year wasn’t able to.

I know that feeling Lucky! I used to have the time (and pets) to play LOLO AND Holibomb, but I had to start choosing one or the other a couple years ago and went with holibombs.

I'm at under 10 uncommon and over fodder now, so I'm going to have to start slowing down or doing targeted item bombs. I can always find an item or two on most folks' wishlists thankfully. But if I can get to 175 I'm happy with my numbers this year! ALL wishlist holibombs and all of my other goals were met! A good year.

I'm gonna call it quits for this year! I've never joined Holibomb before, but I'm glad I finally did! I didn't quite meet my goal though. Will absolutely be joining next year if I'm still around ( I will be, lol) to try and reach it. It was really fun reading all the messages from gifts I sent and knowing I made a holiday a tiny bit brighter.

For anyone curious about numbers, the ratio of gifts I sent out to what I received was around 8:1.
Probably because:
A. It was very easy for me to gift. I have a massive trade group thanks to being a long-time player, etc. I also gifted people not on the list
B. I was very difficult to gift, as my WLs are ridiculous aside from the occasional missed outcome or hoard pet
This is absolutely what I expected and seems to be in line with many other established players who Holibomb. Still fun and worthwhike though!
